Operation Southern Slow Down – July 14-20
This week, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with law enforcement agencies across the Southeast for Operation Southern Slow Down, a focused traffic enforcement campaign aimed at stopping speed-related crashes and saving lives.

You will see increased patrols throughout Lancaster County as deputies crack down on dangerous driving behaviors—especially speeding, one of the top causes of serious collisions and deaths on our roads.

📉 In 2023 alone in South Carolina:
🔹 382 people died in speed-related crashes
🔹 14,718 people were injured
🔹 Speeding ranked in the top five contributing factors in collisions

“Driving too fast is dangerous for everyone on the road, and we see the consequences of speeding far too often here in Lancaster County,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “My responsibility is to help keep this community safe, and that means enforcing speed limits and stopping reckless drivers who put lives at risk.”

⚠️ Slow down. Drive responsibly. Lives are on the line.
