This year’s Conference of Parties (COP28) is entering the second and final week today. 🚨

This means the final negotiations process will begin, and climate advocates need to come together to ensure the world doesn’t surpass the 1.5 Degrees.

This is why Greenzine and our founder, Max Sano, signed on as signatories to demand bold and ambitious climate action!

Join this movement by signing the letter to COP28 President Al Jaber (link in bio) 💚🤍

We had the chance to participate in the March to End Fossil Fuels!

Over 75,000 students, activists, researchers, and concerned citizens took to the streets to call for the Biden Administration to prioritize climate action as we enter into the 2024 U.S. Presidential election cycle.

It is heartening to see the adoption of a Citizens Climate Corps in the aftermath of this demonstration, and we hope to see even further action.

It was a great opportunity to connect Greenzine community with some of our ASTOUNDING partners and friends, including Aspen Future Leaders and NYU Sunrise 💚🤍

So much of the history of human development and civilization, particularly in the last four centuries, has prioritized private wealth and economic production over all indicators of growth and wellbeing. The 7Gen Vision seeks to overhaul preconceived notions of what development can and should look like in the era of the climate and bio-cultural crises.

The 7Gen Food Sovereignty strategy aims to reimagine how to approach benchmarks for environmental and social justice, in terms of both planning and action.

News alert! 🚨🚨🚨🚨

As of today, the The Resilience Youth Network () is officially teaming up with the Greenzine () on a partnership to elevate the ideas of young climate resilience leaders through writing.

Together our organizations are investing in job development for urgently necessary climate adaptation initiatives, providing new opportunities for young people to demonstrate their abilities and passions towards potential employers.

In this new partnership, climate resilience articles will now be cross-posted on RYN and Greenzine websites to further amplify multimedia climate storytelling from emerging leaders. In addition, the Greenzine will serve as the official platform for publishing the capstone projects of RYN’s 2023-2024 Fellowship Cohort.

Be on the lookout for future updates on the Fellowship and how to get involved!

By Travon Robert Nesbit ()

Through prose poetry, Travon navigates the mental gymnastics and energy shifts that climate activists go through.

An important reminder to realize that energy ebbs and flows, just like H20 changes its state ❄️🌊⛅️

“Decolonizing our understanding of environmentalism is an urgent task.”
✍️: Hannah Harrison ()

Introduction to Hannah’s necessary article:

“As will be discussed in this essay, the history of environmentalism has been driven by, typically, the thought of white, male Europeans. In this way, the ‘our’ to whom the title of this essay refers must include such people, but crucially also those who have historically benefited from colonization in whatever form (economic, environmental, technological, etc.)”
