The planet was embroiled in an influenza epidemic that would attack 1/5 of the global population and claim 50 million lives. At the same time, as if that wasn't enough death, the nations were engulfed in a world war that would kill additional 18 million (7 million of which were civilians). Life expectancy in the United States was 48 years for men, and 54 for women.

Death and hell travel together. Christ came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. Don't believe those who take their perspective from what they see going on around them. We have faced hell before; dropped heaven into the mix; and watched the loaf rise.

Heaven always wins. Life always finds a way. Christ still holds the keys to death and hell. Put him in the mix, and believe the best is yet to come. That would have been easy to miss 100 years ago. Let's not miss it today." - Paul White
