Sarah is a creator, liberator, educator, and the founder of Lessons in Liberation, a movement born out of her deep passion for education and the need for representation in the classroom. After leaving her role as a special education teacher during the pandemic, Sarah channeled her love for education into something extraordinary—creating a curriculum that uplifts voices and builds wealth for the next generation.
For over a decade, Sarah dedicated herself to teaching students of color, particularly black boys, who were underrepresented in special education. She made it her mission to create a curriculum that not only reflected their identities but also empowered them to envision a future where they thrive.
As Lessons in Liberation celebrates its third year, we honor Sarah’s incredible work in transforming lives and communities through education. Her commitment to representation and liberation continues to inspire us all.
