These "cordwalks" at this state park just fascinate me... They make fantastic leading lines and elements!

A little chaotic, but I think I captured the mood of the blustery, rainy, chilly late fall day...

I definitely want to go back to this location under different conditions... fog would be amazing as would a heavy snow storm.

This would also be a great sunset location with the setting sun just to the right of the path behind the tree.

I have a ton of prints from over the last year or so… some matted, some loose.

Just trying to empty the print drawer to get ready for 2025!

Most are good to go, they were just my proof prior to making the final print.

The Narnia Trail... What a cool spot! Very surreal walking through the forest and seeing the jagged boulders with trees growing out of them.

I'm planning another trip here in the winter. I think the snow would make this trail absolutely magical.

The video has been trimmed a lot! It was about 1.5 miles to the lamp post and about another 1/3 mile to the tree. I spent a total of about 3 hours here.

I've driven past this barn dozens of times and only "saw" it recently.

While I was shooting it from a different location, the old farmer came out of his house and we had a nice chat about the barn (the roof is tore up and it's leaning 4 degrees to the east) and other farm related topics... like how to tell the original part of the old farmhouses in the area (circa ~1850s).

Old barns, old farms, and old farmers... so little time left for them all, but they still have so many stories to tell.

Slate River Falls... Definitely a "fun" hike! Had to cross the river 3 or 4 times and thankfully, didn't fall into the water!

The entire trek took a little over 20 minutes, but definitely felt longer.

I've been wanting to shoot this falls for some time, but never got the chance until this trip.

I got to this falls early in the morning... it was quite the climb down, but worth every step down (and back up).

While I will never be one to say "the more difficult the journey, the better the photograph", I do firmly believe that the more effort gives on a better appreciation for the photo.

I do have a video that will be posted at some point about the trek down into this "gorge" (I just need to get better at editing videos first).

While I don't name my photos often, this one just came to me... "The Survivor" as the tree lives on a rock in Lake Huron.
