This past week's speaker was Dr. Daniel (Dan) Lujan of Tree City Chiropractic and has been in business for the past five years. Dan is married to his lovely bride of 11 years, Holly, and they have two children, Luke and James. His favorite thing to do is hanging with the boys and build forts

Dan's previous job was a restaurant server and his burning desire is to visit Disneyland with the family. Dan's key to his success is to learn and grow by doing his profession well.

Dan says he is a portal-of-entry physician, this allows him to diagnose and treat patients. His work has emphasis on manual treatments, which includes spinal manipulation. Dan uses many tools, such as a stethoscope and reflex hammer, tape, and braces, but his favorite tool is his hands. Dan can also do lab tests, x-rays, MRIs, CT and bone scans.

Dan talked about the many different ways a chiropractor can help those in pain. A few of these are manual therapy, home care, physiotherapy, and ergonomic counseling.

This past week's speaker (5.13.15) was Joshua (Josh) Farrand, owner of 8 Inch Nails Construction and has been in business for 10 years. Josh is married to his lovely bride, Katie for the past 11 years, and they have two children, Peter and Chloe. They also have a dog named Amos.

Josh's hobbies and fun stuff to do include drinking beer, camping with his family, kayaking, long trips, soccer, hiking, and more beer. His burning desire is lay on a beach in the Bahamas.

Josh talked about how his company is broken down into three types of construction: Remodeling - kitchens, bathrooms, general upgrades, Repairs - fix what has been incorrectly finished, open areas to make room for more space, Ground up construction - complete build, garages, storage.

This past week's speaker (4.29.15) was Nicholas (Nick) Domine, representing US Bank and has been a Customer Service Manager for the past 2 years. He previous worked as a painter, worked at Fred Meyer, Miller Paint, and, of course, in the pizza restaurant business.

Nick is single, but as a girlfriend, Stephanie, which he will "probably" marry (his words), and has a pet dog, Thor. His hobbies include working out, sleeping, easting, making pizza, and annoying Stephanie.

Nick's secret to his success is listen more, talk less. It seems to work as he is one of the youngest (if not the youngest) Customer Service Manager at US Bank.

Nick talked about how US Bank was established in 1917 in Portland, Oregon, and it is the only bank that can have "US" in its name. Also, he states there are 293 ways to make change for a dollar.

Relationships are key to the success of US Bank. Regardless of how a person looks, they are all treated the same as any other bank customer.

This past week's speaker (4.22.15) was Stacy Freyer of All in One Accounting and has been in business for 11 years. She earned a Bachelor degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance from St. Thomas University. Stacy's has previously worked in Banking, Asset Based Lending and private industry. She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB), Stacy dedicates many hours to continuing education so that she can provide the best possible service to her clients.

She is married to Chad, a Firefighter, and they have two children, Zak, 21 and Andi, 18. Zak is on his way to the US Naval Academy, needless to say, Stacy is very proud.

Stacy's burning desire is to retire early and travel the world. The key to her success is honesty with her clients and herself.

Stacy talked about the differences between an Accountant and a CPA. Accountants do not do taxes. Instead, an Accountant prepares the clients books and reports to make the CPA's job easier. Also, she ensures the client's books are in order and show cash flow, when to spend, and when to not spend. An Accountant gathers information and sends out statements to clients, letting them know where the client's business is financially.

He is a graduate of Portland State University School of Business with a degree in Advertising and Marketing. Jeff previously worked in sales and marketing and for 20 years, in radio and television.

Jeff is married to his lovely bride, Karen, and they have two children, Clare and Nathan. They also have a pet dog, Ty.

Jeff's burning desire is to help people and at the same time better himself at what he does for those people. The key to his success is caring for others and how to better serve them. Jeff's one love (after family) is bacon.

Something no one knows about Jeff is that he once had heart surgery.

Connor's hobbies are Jujitsu, road cycling, skiing, and shooting s***t. His burning desire is to some day hike in Turkey.

A previous job was a Job Developer, assisting those with disabilities to find work. Melissa also previously worked as a care giver for the disabled. She is a very compassionate woman.

Melissa has one son, Isaiah, a pet rabbit, Dora, lives in SE Portland, and is a native Oregonian, even though her family hails from Hawaii. Melissa graduated from Portland State University with a BS in Community Development.

Dawn was born in Port Hueneme, CA while her father was stationed there with a Navy Seabee command. Her family moved to Camp David and then on to Colorado. Since the fourth grade, Dawn has lived in Oregon.

Dawn is married and has a son, Jacob Joseph, the love of her life. She is a graduate from the University of Oregon with a degree in Finance. Her burning desire is to be a full-time, stay-at-home Mom to Jacob.

Dawn talked about how she "gives away" money to assist people buy homes and refinance mortgages in Oregon and Washington. Because Dawn is a mortgage broker, she is not tied to one lender and can get people the very best rates. She's a wiz and has the buyer and/or home owner best interest in mind. As Dawn says, it's not about the money, it's about the people.

Mike has been married to his bride, Eva, for 23 years and they have a blended family with 8 children, 18 grandchildren, and 2 great-grand children. He loves children, reading, and watching movies. Kevin graduated from the University of Montana in 1988 with a BS in Forestry. He worked for the forest products industry during the summer after graduation, then moved on to Production Supervisor in wood mills, then to Oregon as a Mill Manager.

Kevin started the Harmon Insurance Agency in1997 and has two offices - one in North Portland and the other on the west side. Farmer's Insurance is about 60% of his business and he has several other insurance offerings.

Kristie was born and raised in Portland and a graduate of Portland State University. She is married and has 1 child, and a dog.

Northwestern Mutual has been in business since 1857 and issues Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Long Term Care Insurance.

Kristie explained the importance of all of the above and the younger a person, the more affordable the policies. She also explained when looking for insurance, ensure the company has financial strength and stability, which Northwestern Mutual has.
