I know. I was there..Not at the time the two were there. However, I did visit the hotel with this girl named Tina..Lol

On this day in 1991 Whitney Houston performed The Star-Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl XXV, before 73,813 fans, 115 million viewers in the United States and a worldwide television audience of 750 million.

Due to overwhelming response from the general public, Arista Records decided to release Whitney's rendition as a single, which was later reissued following the September 11 terrorist attacks, helping to unite the country.

Both in 1991 and 2001 the profits were donated to charities; in 1991 to Whitney Houston Foundation for Children and American Red Cross, while in 2001 to New York Firefighters 9/11 Disaster Relief Fund and New York Fraternal Order of Police.

Whitney's rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner is widely regarded as the best, most influential, most commercially successful rendition of the National Anthem in history.
