Many Lake Jackson residents today know the story of the Lake Jackson Plantation, and many moved to this area when Dow Chemical developed the land into the city we know today. But what about the stories of the families and communities who lived here in between these two eras?

This summer, we're shining a light on stories from the 19th and early 20th centuries that have been historically overlooked with our new exhibit, "Uncovering the Past: Untold Stories of Lake Jackson History." This exhibit will be on view at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum during our regular hours starting next week. Join us for a special opening reception on Thursday, May 25th at 7 PM! RSVP for the reception here: https://www.ljhistory.org/event-details/opening-reception-uncovering-the-past-untold-stories-of-lake-jackson-history-1
