**Live Oak Police Department Investigates Armed Robbery at 24-hour Jiffy Store**
Live Oak, FL– The Live Oak Police Department is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the 24-hour Jiffy store located at 307 Ohio Ave N. in the early hours of February 3, 2024.
At approximately 2:03AM, Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the convenience store. Preliminary investigations indicate that 3 suspects entered the store, brandished fi****ms, and demanded cash from the store clerk. The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and miscellaneous items.
Once Law Enforcement reviewed security footage from the store and with information received from other Law Enforcement Agencies investigating similar cases, a BOLO (Be on the look out) was given out to surrounding counties. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was intercepted on Interstate 10 by the Columbia County Sheriffs Office. A Deputy with the CCSO attempted to stop the vehicle, which began to flee. After a short pursuit, the suspects abandoned the vehicle at the Interstate 75 and US 129 interchange. K-9 units from Suwannee CI and Hamilton CI responded, to begin tracking the suspects.
One suspect has been apprehended, while the other two are still being currently sought.
The safety and security of our community members and businesses are of utmost importance to the Live Oak Police Department. We are committed to thoroughly investigating this incident and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is urged to contact the Live Oak Police Department at (386)362-7463.
We appreciate the cooperation and support of the community as we work diligently to ensure the safety of all residents and businesses in Live Oak.
The Live Oak Police Department would like to express our gratitude for the partnership and support from the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office, Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Lake City Police Department - Lcflapd, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, FL, Suwannee CI and Hamilton CI with this case.
