Earlier today, the Lake City Fire department gave a proper sendoff to Ron who will be attending the Special Olympics basketball competition this weekend.
Special thanks to the fire department for helping Opportunity Living make the event a special one for Ron.

Slice and dice! South Central Calhoun senior Tyler Lighter goes coast to coast, before driving in for the bucket during the first quarter of Friday evening’s (Dec. 2) season and conference opening matchup between the Titan boys and East Sac County at the SCC Middle School Gymnasium in Rockwell City.
The Titans (1-0, 1-0 TLC) went on a 20-0 opening tear before cruising past the Raiders (0-1, 0-1 TLC) in a 61-41 romp.
Earlier in the evening, the SCC girls used a massive second quarter to power past the Raiders with a 59-27 victory.

Score the pin, seal the win! SCC Titan Wrestling senior Levi Evanoski rolls Ridge View grappler Asher Endrulat’s back to the mat, earning a pinfall in 4:54 in the 170 lbs. bout.
This allowed the Titans to earn a hard fought 42-35 victory in a triangular held on Thursday evening (Dec. 1) at the SCC Middle School Gymnasium in Rockwell City.
The Titans went 1-1 in their season opening duals, falling to MOC-Floyd Valley 54-24, before defeating the Raptors in the nightcap.
SCC will now get ready for the Doug Wood Invitational, slated for Saturday at the MNW Gymnasium in Manson.

To commemorate Rebekah P.’s upcoming Special Olympics competition, Opportunity Living teamed up with the Lake City Fire Department and the Lake City Police Department for a State Competition Sendoff, held on Friday morning (Nov. 18) in Lake City.
Rebekah got the five-star tour of the town, as the caravan rolled through downtown, the two houses managed by the intermediate care facility and SCC High School.

The South Central Calhoun Middle School held its 25th annual Veterans Day Program on Friday afternoon (Nov. 11) at the SCC Middle School Gymnasium in Rockwell City.
Carl Legore was the guest speaker, nearly $350 was raised for the Brushy Creek Honor Flight, and students exhibited their talents and patriotism through choir, band and art.

Junior Chloe Judisch and freshman Iris Melody of the South Central Calhoun cross country team (along with seniors Caleb Blair and Eli Wheelock) get the red truck treatment, in a State Sendoff held on Thursday afternoon (Oct. 27) in Lake City.
The Lake City Fire Department provided the ride.
Judisch and Melody will prepare to race at the IGHSAU Class 2A State Cross Country Championships, set for 2 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 28) at Kennedy Memorial Park in Fort Dodge.

Right before intermission, junior Keegan Soard intercepts a VanRegenmorter’s pass toward the endzone, and runs it back to the 27 yard line.
The Titans are very much alive, and there’s plenty of football left to be played!

SCC won the coin toss, and will defer to the second half. The Wolfpack will receive the ball.

Junior Kolin Folsom snags the game sealing interception, lifting the Titans to 4-4 overall with a 3-2 district mark. Now, SCC will see who they have for the First Round of the IHSAA Class 1A Playoffs, set to start next Friday.
The Broncos close out their season at 0-8, 0-5 in district.
