1 Thing Productive Agents Do That You (Probably) Don't…
One of my favorite books is called, The Road Less Stupid... 🤦♀️ Inside, the author describes how, in business, whenever you do something that you shouldn’t, there’s always a stupid tax that needs to be paid.
And you can’t get mad about it because it’s the cost of the education you’ve received. The bigger the lesson learned, the greater the tax will be.
In business, I’ve paid this tax many (many) times. But the problem comes into play when you don’t learn from your mistakes. That’s when the one-time tax turns into a recurring toll.
And this week, I felt like I’ve stopped at the toll booth one too many times. And I keep asking myself, why do I have to keep paying this toll? How did I even end up on this road again?
The tax always happens when you’re uneducated, but the toll happens when you’re unprepared.
Currently, I’m managing an 8-figure real estate marketing business AND a new real estate team. The only way I’m able to juggle it all is by time blocking.
Usually, every minute of my work day is planned. But this week, I decided to wing it. And now, I feel like I’m drowning (because, frankly, I am).
And the reason is because work expands to fill the time slot you give it. So, if you allow 30 minutes to get something done, it will only take 30 minutes. But if you allow 90, it will take 90.
This week, I allowed 8 hours a day… And guess how long it took me? 8 Hours!
…And this is why I had to pay the toll.
But I promise you, next week will be different.
Next week, I’ll have every day planned out from start to finish. I’ll have my time blocks, planner, timers, and DND’s posted.

If you’re a new agent or if you need to create quick momentum in your business, there’s no better way to do it than holding open houses. This is because people who attend open houses are already actively looking for homes.
1. No listings?
My answer is always, “Borrow one.”
Start asking other agents in your office if you can hold an open house on their behalf.
2. Run Ad
To create buzz for your open house, you can run a simple ad to promote it.
3. Start a Conversation
Tell people that stop by about one special feature of the home, then let them tour it on their own.
Then before they leave, ask them to tell you what they thought about that special feature you mentioned.
Doing so opens the conversation and allows you to speak to them easily before they go!
4. Follow Up
When the open house ends, follow up with every single lead.

1. Make sure you pick a community name

2. Never use the word REALTOR
Because it belongs exclusively to NAR
Also don’t use words like “realty” or “real estate” in your name either!
Remember, community over commissions…
Trust before transactions.
When you lead with community, you’ll get more leads than you’ll know what to do with.
