🥩🌽Stop by the Lafayette Farmers’ Market on Friday, July 26 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm to celebrate July Beef Month and Farmers' Market Fresh!🫛🍔

We will have free beef giveaways from Macon County Cattlemen's Association, Roark's Meat Market, Macon County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership, and Tennessee Beef Industry Council. UT Extension – Macon County will also have a booth for Farmers’ Market Fresh set up with free recipes, samples, and various kitchen accessories at the Lafayette Farmers’ Market. The Lafayette Farmers’ Market is located in the front parking lot of Key Park at 208 Church St in Lafayette.

The Macon County Fair 4-H Poultry Show & Sale will be Saturday, August 3 at the Steve Walker Livestock Barn with the show beginning at 9:00 am and the sale of champions at 10:00 am. If you are a 4-H member that participated in the Chick Chain Project and want to show in the 4-H Poultry Show, please call 615-666-3341 to pre-register.

Come out and support these 4-H members and sponsor them by purchasing their chickens. The exhibitors have been raising their hens since March and have worked really hard caring for them.

this Saturday July 20th from 6-8 pm, Vision 2020 Inc is hosting a dance party featuring a cake walk, silent auction, and unlimited ice cream floats.

Macon County 4-H is partnering with Macon County Farm Bureau to promote the beef industry by handing out free beef samples and information provided by Tennessee Beef Industry Council. Remember that the State of Tennessee requires TDAP booster and 2nd Varicella for 7th grade entry. These vaccines AND proof of (Up To Date State of Tennessee Immunization Certificate) must be on file or in hand for your student to be able to start 7th grade.

Anyone that does not have this on file or in hand will have to acquire these immunizations to be allowed to stay at school. Please take this opportunity of the summer break to get up to date shots!

We'd like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who came out to our community event this past Saturday in honor of our late coworker, David Loftis.

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise an incredible $4,100 for Shriners Hospitals for Children! A representative from the local chapter was presented with the check, and these funds will directly support their mission.

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Hannah Hudson-Stacey will instruct a class on the importance of pollinators to our environment and overall wellness. Participants will learn about animal pollinators and how to support pollinator habitat with a focus on native flora. This class involves a hands-on activity, and participants will get to take home seeds to establish their own pollinator habitat.

PRESENTER BIO: Hannah Hudson-Stacey is a Red Boiling Springs native with a passion for preserving local environment and culture. Hannah is an alumni of Western Kentucky University where she graduated in 2022 with a B.A. in Cultural and Biological Anthropology. Hannah currently works as a Conservation Technician with the nearby Jackson County Soil & Water Conservation District.
