Sharing - because I have never heard anyone express personal experience of how being homeless is de-humanizing in this way. And she is right. We heard a lot about her (Jewel) being homeless - but only now nearly 3 decades later - do I learn that it was because she was trying to avoid something horrible - by her boss, that this happened.

(CNN) –– A man arrested Monday on a gun charge in Pennsylvania “is believed to be our person of interest in the brazen, targeted murder of Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, last Wednesday in Midtown Manhattan,” New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced.

Never in a million years when I was on KSIG in Crowley at 16 - did I think in a few short.... well ok - who am I kiddin' - nearly a half century later - someone would be able to listen to me on the radio - on a phone in their pocket - from any where in the world.... on something called the 'internet'. Ha! I'm still waiting for the 'Scotty beam me up stuff' we saw on Star Trek....lol.
I'm on "the radio/the air" today - tomorrow - M-F 2p-7p and having more fun than ever. I'm blessed to have been able to survive the many changes in 'radio' and till be working on air all these years. My most perpelexing thought is that - in space (theoretically) there may be radio waves still bouncing around - that if you were in the right place, and had a radio - my very first broadcast would pour out of that reciever. What a cool thought.
Unlike someone who builds houses - I can't drive down the road and point to most of the things I've done. My entire life of broadcasting - is invisible to me - and it's just lines on a page of a resume. I do hope God can show to me - what He did use it to build/support/encourage in this world and for eternity through me - if anything. That would be a gift for sure. Thank you Jesus.

Aaron Carter - pop star and rapper - dead at 34. I had a chance to meet him briefly and spent a few minutes chatting with him while waiting to get him into our KSMB Studio one day - as he was coming in to visit the morning show. I'll never claim to understand how he lived his life - but he seemed to have a humble spirit and a good heart on that day. He was calm and kind, and in no way seemed to see himself as someone above anyone else - regardless of his massive celebrity.

No more tears - no more struggles. Much love Aaron - and hoping the next place is a better place for you. R.I.P. buddy.
