It's a dog's life! Meet Rosie -- who got petted by me while I simultaneously prompted her owners as they were being filmed for a commercial. No petting = the dog peering out the window at them on the back porch and occasional barks.

15 years ago members of my team and I were in Washington DC for a weekend of festivities and events prior to the inauguration of Barack Obama as president on January 20, 2009. The night before, on January 19th, we teleprompted three concurrent events -- with Obama "hopping" to all of them.

These are the photos from the event I worked in the Grand Hall at Union Station in Washington DC. The next day government White House Communications Association members (military) took over teleprompting duties.

This week was spent working on the 2nd Obama Foundation Democracy Forum. I was there to prompt the Obamas and a few other presenters. Standard presidentials were used for the Obamas -- and they were mounted on a rolling platform that was moved into position when needed. For other presenters the scripts were fed to DSMs and hanging screens.

One of the things I love about my company is the huge variety of production and events we get to work on -- along with the great crews and talent.

- 2 days, webcast with association president and Q&A participants; 15" camera-mount teleprompter

- 2 days, corporate townhall; teleprompter computers, live set-up

- 1 day, teleprompting performer Sting; teleprompter computers, live set-up

- 2 days, corporate meeting rehearsals w/2nd operator to handle script changes while first op is rehearsing talent; teleprompter computer per op, plus an additional computer for Teams participation to prompt remote talent

- 1 day, outdoor video shoot for a PGA Hall of Famer; 15" Daybrite camera-mount teleprompter w/batteries

- 1 day, association president message (dif association); 15" camera-mount teleprompter

- 2 day, corporate video shoot; 15" camera-mount teleprompter

- 1 day, corporate live event; rise and fall presidential teleprompter

- 1 day, "Tonight Show"-like event; 19" trapezoid camera-mount teleprompter

What is the strangest thing that has interrupted your video shoots? Well, we had an outdoor shoot in Wisconsin last week and a pair of Wild Turkeys landed just off set and started fighting! My teleprompter operator, Carol Marino, was able to grab a great pic of the "action".
