MISSION STATEMENT

In the air and on the ground, Blue Mountain Translator District is committed to delivering the best antenna television to our members. We set out in 1978, as a non-profit government municipal special district to bring signals and rebroadcast to Baker and Union Counties. Today we continue these efforts, are committed, and recognized the needs of Eastern Oregon. Your financial s

upport of the District will continue to deliver HD TV at an affordable price. Welcome to Blue Mountain Translator District

We appreciate your support as we continue to deliver over the air television to Union County and Baker Valley. Blue Mountain Translator District is a Non-Profit government municipality serving Union and Baker Counties with over the air television access since 1978. Translator towers located on Mt F***y, Mt Harris and Beaver Mountain. The fees collected support the administration, equipment and maintenance to operate these towers. We now offer over 20 HD channels including the major networks, ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. The annual fee for receiving and utilizing the television signal is only $100.00 payable in July each year. It’s an amazing service verses the high costs of satellite and cable TV saving you hundreds of dollars annually. It is Oregon Law ORS 354.690 that whomever owns or rents residential property in Baker and Union counties and receives and uses the “over the air” television signals from any of the 3 translators and is required to pay the annual $100.00

Annual billings for the district are mailed every June. Residents within the service districts are sent an annual billing with and option to advise us you do not use the signal. Residents within Baker and LaGrande city limits who choose to use the signal will be added our database. Please contact us with any questions you may have.

Sinclair Broadcasting was hacked a while back and Portland stations have been a little out of order since. Portland graciously sent and installed new monitoring equipment here in La Grande to see if they can isolate/trace the problem. We're aware of the issues and are working on it.

Annual Service Notice. Per ORS 354.690 BMTD is required to send out the liability notices every year to property owners that reside on or own property in the unincorporated areas of Baker and Union /counties, and to property owners within the city limits that have been verified to have an antenna. ORS 354.690 also requires property owners to respond to the annual notice by mailing in the required $100 annual service charge OR by claiming one of the specific exemptions listed on the liability notice, and signing and returning the liability notice for an exemption from the service charge. Let me tell ya bout my best friend...

It’s uncommon in this industry to have the opportunity to anchor with one of your favorite people! It’s been a blast teaming up for the KGW-TV News at 4 the past three months Mondays through Wednesdays. But our time on the 4 together has come to an end. (I’m sure our director is excited she doesn’t have to hear us gab away about insignificant crap in commercial breaks)

It’s OK - the amazingly talented and beautiful Ashley Korslien is coming back to her show after having her beautiful baby! Brittany Falkers will be anchoring with Ashley Mon-Wed and I’ll be anchoring with her Thursdays and Fridays!
