There were 325 people who voted on Friday, July 26 as part of early voting for the August election, according to Campbell County Administrator of Elections Mallory Rosenfeld.

That is the most votes in a single day during this early-voting period thus far. It topped the previous high, which was 297 votes on the first day of early voting, Friday, July 12.

The last day to early vote is tomorrow: Saturday, July 27.

Election day is Thursday, Aug. 1.

Bufford T. Proffitt picked up a petition on Wednesday to run for LaFollette mayor in November, joining Johnny Byrge, Phillip Farmer and Scotty Kitts in doing so, according to Campbell County Administrator of Elections Mallory Rosenfeld.

LaFollette City Councilman Wayne Kitts also returned his petition in his re-election bid.
