Tennessee basketball finally lost and the loss stung.

The Vols turned in the worst offensive performance in coach Rick Barnes' 10 seasons in a beatdown at Florida, which ended its unbeaten start after 14 straight wins and will end its program-record five-week stint as No. 1.

No. 1 Tennessee (14-1, 1-1 SEC) crumbled in a 73-43 loss at No. 8 Florida (14-1, 1-1) on Tuesday in Gainesville, Florida. The previous lowest-scoring game under Barnes was 46. Tennessee beat Auburn 46-43 on Feb. 25, 2023.

Thanks to Gene Thomas at Jammin 99.7FM/WJBE for having Chief Noel and East District Commander Nevin Long on his show.

Captain Long was happy to report that violent crime was down across the board in the East District in 2024, including a 27-percent reduction in murders, a 46-percent reduction in non-fatal shootings and a 10-percent reduction in aggravated assaults.
