Cat Gets A Job is an illustrated children's book by Steven & Courtney Haggard about a bored house cat who wants to do something more than just sit around at home so he goes on the hunt for a job. He applies for as many jobs as possible but fails to get a suitable job until he comes across an accounting firm that seems like it could be a perfect at first, but he faces challenges until he is met with a solution.
This rhyming book for kids allows them not only to access their creative side but also shows them that just because something doesn't seem to fit your way of doing things initially, does not mean there isn't another approach that can be taken to make things work.
Overall, this is a fun and exciting book for children that comes with an activity as well as downloadable material.

We enjoy having sock wars (an indoor snowball fight with socks), and of course coming up with children's stories. Our kids do too! 🧦 📚
We love a well-metered rhyme with a touch of humor. What are your favorite rhyming books?
Our upcoming title, Cat Gets a Job, takes the not-your-average-housecat outside of his element. In this story, Cat conquers the average workday – waking up early, navigating public transportation, and the office watercooler – with the gleeful naivety that only felines (or children) can muster.
Even our kids got in in the fun when we were creating this sweet, silly story. We cannot wait to share it with the world!

Our kids weighed in on their favorite middle grade reads. What should we add to their list?
There's something about a good rhyming book. The first that comes to mind is Mine-O-Saur by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen. Love how she integrates rhyming sections and non-rhyming sections with perfection! And of course anything by Dr. Seuss. Do you have a favorite rhyming story?
These are the mom and dad characters in There's an Elephant in My Room! Don't you love all the tiny details in the illustration?
They look so much like us that our youngest said, “That’s Momma and Daddy!” Funny thing, though... Our illustrator had never seen us before she created these characters!
The freedom of childhood brings pillow forts that transcend fort-dom. This one is a home for a tiny kitten. Don’t you see it peeking through the little hole?

As far as children’s books are concerned, we have one that we are excited to release to the world later this year, and we are resolved to make it through the illustration, editing, and self-publishing for a summer release.
