In our August issue we feature an inspiring article about Friends of Youth, a local nonprofit agency, dedicated to supporting youth, young adults and families in crisis and who recently received $1 million in funding to expand their 24/7 emergency shelter! Previously known as The Landing, the new Willows Youth Services Center in Kirkland will better support the needs of youth and young adults experiencing homelessness on the east side. It’s an amazing article and story!

Although Little League baseball is generally considered a spring sport, there really is no “off-season” for Todd Greenberg, Kirkland resident and President of Kirkland American Little League (KALL), which is why his story is perfect for our August issue. As you read up on Todd and KALL, you can also head on over to Everest park and support them from July 31st to August 5th where Kirkland will once again host the Junior League Softball World Series where qualifying teams from all over the world will compete in this tournament with all 27 games set to broadcast exclusively on ESPN+!

Today’s news is pretty sensationalized – so much so it can actually trigger the body’s stress response.

But there’s a light at the end of this dark and dingy tunnel: We at Greet Kirkland, part of The N2 Company, still have plenty of faith in humanity. In fact, we’re on a mission to amplify the good in hopes that it outweighs, or at least counterbalances, the bad, sad, and stressful.

We call it the Good News Revolution: Our magazine is filled with uplifting and inspirational stories to change the media narrative from stress-inducing to smile-provoking.

Come join us in this Revolution. Keep reading and send us nominations of stories you’d like to see at [email protected]!
Smile and have a great day!

Having a developmentally disabled child can be challenging enough for both the parents and the child. But when those children become 21 and age out of the educational system, it can leave parents wondering what the rest of their child’s life will look like as few programs are out there to help them keep learning, having fun, and building skills so they can take part in the larger community. That’s why Seattle Children’s joined with the Burnett family in 2014 launching the Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center. Read all about this AMAZING center in our July issue!

In our July issue you’ll meet Joene Labou, and learn her amazing story of strength, resilience..and why half her heart is in Washington and the other half in Louisiana.
“When life is going well, it’s easy to feel safe, confident and, dare I say, invincible. Yet it’s often at these times life steps in and throws a curveball so unexpected and frightening, it leaves us in shock. For Joene LaBou, it was on a 2018 trip to France to celebrate her 65th birthday with her partner, Bob.”
