To be clear, Don Cheadle didn’t release a Grammy-nominated rap album, and Freddie Gibbs wasn’t in Iron Man 3.

Apparently, people kept confusing Cheadle, 58, for Gibbs, 41, and vice versa, so the twosome clarified the situation on Sunday, November 19, when they both attended the same Los Angeles Lakers game. Gibbs posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) in response to a fan mentioning that the broadcast showed him at the game.

“That was big bro. That wasn’t me,” the “1985” rapper captioned the video, which showed him alongside the Hotel Rwanda actor. In the clip, the pair reassured fans that despite their similarities, they are “not the same human.”

“It’s not me,” Gibbs continued. Cheadle, meanwhile, insisted, “We’re two different people. He’s him and I’m me.”

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! These celebrity parents all share striking similarities — and features! — with their cute kids.

Gibbs then claimed Cheadle “was in his seat [and] I was in my seat.” At that point, Cheadle asked, “Everybody understand?” hoping this mistaken identity issue would be settled. The pair ended the video by breaking into laughter before exchanging a hug.

The whole “Cheadle or Gibbs” issue began a year ago. In February, Gibbs shared a story of meeting Cheadle during Super Bowl weekend. “N–a walked up to me last night and said, ‘People say we look alike’ alike, and it was Don Cheadle. The f–king GOAT.” Cheadle responded, “Great meeting you, nephew.”

In November 2022, one social media user tweeted “Happy Birthday ” but included a photo of Cheadle instead. Gibbs took it in stride, reposting the photo while writing, “Happy birthday to The Don, my mentor.” Cheadle, who has since deactivated his X account, responded, “We gonna get it on one of these days, fam.”

Gibbs then posted a GIF from Robin Hood: Men in Tights, along with the caption “I challenge you,” seemingly because he thought Cheadle was hinting at a fight. Cheadle then walked back his initial tweet by saying Gibbs “misunderheard my tweet, daddy-o!” Gibbs acknowledged “my bad,” to which Cheadle replied, “Ya goofy bastard.”

Gibbs spent most of 2023 on the road. The prior year, he released Sol Sold Separately, the follow-up to his Grammy-nominated Alfredo album. Cheadle’s 2023, meanwhile, saw him appear in Agent Elvis and the Secret Invasion series. The actor will next appear in Prince of Darkness, a series based on the life of James Hamilton, a pre–Civil War Wall Street broker once known as “the only black millionaire in New York.”

Roger Howarth will soon be working his final shift on General Hospital as the actor confirmed he is leaving the daytime soap opera.

“Several weeks ago, I got a phone call from somebody I’ve known for a very long time who I love very dearly [executive producer Frank Valentini] telling me that when my contract was up at ABC,” Howarth, 55, told Soap Opera Digest on Monday, November 20. “I would not be offered a new contract and that the character of Austin would be killed, and that this was something that both wanted and needed to do to move [the] story.”

Howarth joined General Hospital in 2012 as Todd Manning, a character he previously played on One Life to Live from 1993 to 2012. Howarth later took over the character of Franco Baldwin in 2013. After Franco’s story line wrapped up in 2021, Howarth returned as a new character, Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt, that same year.

Dr. Austin was fatally shot during the show’s Friday, November 17, episode, marking the end of Howarth’s 11-year run on the show.

All good things must come to an end, even when it comes to TV. Over the years, many television stars have suddenly left their roles — while others have been cut from a series without much notice. Anna Faris announced in September 2020 that she was leaving CBS’ Mom after starring as the lead character […]

Despite initially being surprised by his character’s tragic fate, Howarth told Soap Opera Digest that he grew to realize “how lucky I was to have been able to do something I really love doing for more than a decade with people who I really enjoyed working with,” adding, “I’m a lucky guy. I had a great run and this was a decision made by people who make these kinds of decisions for a living.”

Howarth recalled being “overwhelmed” with emotion during his last day of filming in October. “I love telling [stories] and I got to do it for a long time. … It’s not just that I felt that on my last day, I still feel that way, but I felt it pretty strongly on the set,” he shared. “And everybody was very sweet to me. The producers gave me flowers and I got to say thank you and goodbye to an awful lot of people who I really admire.”

ABC/Christine Bartolucci

Howarth went on to thank General Hospital viewers for being “the most loyal, smartest, most discerning, enthusiastic, supportive, bunch of people in the whole history of entertainment ever.” He continued: “I want to say, ‘Thank you for watching, thank you for all of your support and love. We’ve all tried really hard to please you and I’m glad we got to spend this time together. It was cool. I had a great time.’”

It’s never easy to say goodbye, even if it’s a television goodbye. While no TV show can last forever – well, Law & Order: SVU is in the running – the cast doesn’t always stay as long. Many actors choose to leave after their contracts end. Some give the networks a lengthy heads-up, while others […]

Howarth also took to Instagram to show appreciation for fans. “Three things that I know for sure … 1 Daytime fans are lovely and amazing and supportive and dedicated and I am deeply grateful to each sparkly one of them,” he captioned a selfie of his shadow on Monday. “2 I enjoyed my time at general hospital and wish the cast and crew the best and continued success. It was a pleasure working with you all. 3 Life is amazing. We just don’t ever know what’s gonna happen. How great! Turn toward the light. Always. Huge thank you to you all.”

Several of Howarth’s General Hospital costars share their appreciation for the actor in the post’s comments. “Life is amazing- and so are you!!! ,” actress Laura Wright commented, while costar Risa Dorken wrote, “Big time bummer. It was always a good day when I saw your name on the list, or your face in “the hub.” Learned a lot from watching you. Thanks for the conversations & kindness.🩷 You’re a real good one. Love you Roger. Xx.”

Emotions will be running high during the finale of The Golden Bachelor as Gerry Turner is forced to choose between Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist.

“You’re seeing the end of his journey unfold in Costa Rica. And then of course we’ll have both women [and] Gerry there. We’ll all be watching it back for the first time together live,” Jesse Palmer told Us Weekly during an exclusive interview on Monday, November 20. “The Women Tell All was kind of a twofer. It was sort of like a Women Tell All and an After the Final Rose.”

Jesse, 45, was referring to Gerry’s tear-filled reunion with second runner-up Faith Martin.

“I mean, if that was any indicator of what this is going to be, I think this will be the most emotional AFR that the franchise has ever seen,” the host continued. “I really believe it.”

ABC/Ricky Middlesworth Leslie Fhima has been making a splash on The Golden Bachelor since her first moment on screen. The fitness instructor, 64, instantly had all eyes on her due to her memorable limo exit during the show’s season premiere in September. Fhima emerged from the vehicle wearing a wig and robe with a walker […]

In the promo for the Thursday, November 30, finale, Gerry, 72, can be heard telling Jesse that he hasn’t been this upset since his wife, Toni, died.

Gerry Turner and Jesse Palmer ABC/Craig Sjodin

“It was just a moment where I think Gerry just needed someone to talk to, and he needed to vent and talk about his feelings,” Jesse said. “And for me, the only advice in those situations is just trying to reassure him that it’s all going to be worth it and that there’s an amazing woman that he gets to spend the rest of his life with on the other side of all of that. But that was about as intense, as real and as raw as it gets. And it was probably the most raw moment that I think I’ve been a part of since hosting the franchise.”

It’s tough to predict who Gerry will give his final rose to as he’s told both Leslie, 64, and Theresa, 70, that he loves them.

“Gerry’s a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve. … He’s very present in those moments, and I think Gerry can be a little bit impulsive at times,” Jesse told Us of Gerry giving both women reassurance during the overnight dates. “But he’s the guy that knows what he wants, and I think he was feeling a lot of things and experiencing a lot of things throughout this season for the very first time. And I think navigating this part of the journey was something that I don’t think he or anybody can really prepare for when you find yourself in these moments.”

Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner’s journey for love is almost over, and he still has one major decision to make. Following emotional hometown dates, Gerry, 72, selected Theresa Nist and Leslie Fhima as his final two contestants. “I want to be engaged, but the possibility is there that I could make the wrong choice,” he said […]

Jesse noted that Gerry’s contestants are “a group of incredible women,” and the lead’s feelings for them are real.

“He fell in love with multiple women all at the same time in different ways,” the former Bachelor said. “Throughout the course of the season, [the goodbyes are] easily the most difficult part. And I think it usually is for most leads, but I think people are really going to see an emotional goodbye come the finale that they just haven’t seen yet. It’s pretty intense.”

Before Gerry decides whether he wants to propose, Leslie and Theresa will meet his daughters, who he loves “more than anything in the world,” per Jesse.

“It’s kind of an interesting dynamic. Normally, it’s a Bachelor [or] Bachelorette meeting his parents and giving him advice. But Gerry has daughters who are adults and have their own families,” Jesse said. “He respects their opinions, they know him better than anyone. And I know he leans on them for advice and support throughout the whole thing. But it was very important for him obviously to have them meet the two women and give their feedback. And I know Gerry was very appreciative of it.”

When it comes to the future of the franchise, Jesse told Us that he’s in the same spot as Bachelor Nation. “I’m sort of on the edge of my seat just like everybody else is waiting to find out if [The Golden Bachelorette] is something that’s going to happen,” he told Us. “I really hope it is.”

He added that there’s “not just one” standout for a senior female lead. “For me, what I think makes it really unique is I think there’s many women in Gerry’s season that I think would be outstanding Golden Bachelorettes,” he said. “I think so many of them are deserving and would be fantastic. I’d love to just see a bunch of guys in their 70s sitting around the mansion trying to fix everything. Yeah, I think it would be amazing.”

The Golden Bachelor finale and After the Final Rose airs on Thursday, November 30, at 8 p.m. ET.

Hill Harper will not appear in The Good Doctor season 7 after launching a senate campaign.

“Hill Harper feels strongly that there is a crisis in American democracy — too often, government only works for the rich and powerful while the rest of us struggle to find a voice,” Harper’s campaign spokesperson told TVLine on Monday, November 20. “Hill is dedicating his efforts full time to fixing that, and he’s running for the U.S. Senate as an active union member to give working people more of a voice in Congress.”

Harper, 57, is one of the original stars of The Good Doctor, first appearing as Dr. Marcus Andrews in the 2017 pilot. He has starred in 116 episodes of the ABC medical drama. Without him, the only remaining original cast members will be Freddie Highmore, who plays Dr. Shaun Murphy, and Richard Schiff, who portrays Dr. Aaron Glassman.

The Good Doctor viewers saw Dr. Andrews resign as the president of San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital in the season 6 finale. It seems that’s the end of the character’s arc going into season 7 of The Good Doctor, which will premiere Tuesday, February 20, at 10 p.m. ET.

Jason Mraz and pro Daniella Karagach may be sick, but they’re still planning to give it their all on the dance floor.

Karagach, 30, took to her Instagram Story on Monday, November 20, to give fans insight into how she and Mraz, 46, are feeling going into Dancing With the Stars’ Taylor Swift Night. “We’ve both been sick for the past week. We feel horrible,” Karagach said while coughing. Mraz, meanwhile, leaned up against a wall in the rehearsal studio while staring into the camera.

“But, we’ll be there Tuesday!” Karagach gushed while giving the camera a thumbs-up.

The duo are expected to dance an Argentine tango to one of Swift’s songs during the Tuesday, November 21, episode of the ABC competition series. They will also face off against Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev in a cha cha relay to earn extra points.

Mraz and Lawson, 27, hinted that they may be dancing to Swift’s “Lavender Haze” in a Monday Instagram post. In the photo, the competitors smiled and pointed at a clock set to midnight, referencing the song’s lyrics.

“Meet and on the dance floor for their Cha Cha relay dance against and for ,” the official Dancing With the Stars account captioned the photo.

This isn’t the first time Mraz has made headlines during his season 32 stint on DWTS. Earlier this week, he and Harry Jowsey cleared the air after their alleged beef.

On November 16, Mraz took to his Instagram Story to encourage fans to continue to vote for Jowsey, 26, and partner Rylee Arnold. Fans, however, speculated that Mraz was actually throwing shade at the Too Hot to Handle alum because Mraz crossed his eyes in the photo and wrote “ ” over his forehead.

Jowsey then posted a selfie that fans theorized was a response to Mraz. “Winners focus on winning and losers focus on winners,” he captioned a photo that showed him driving his Lamborghini.

After the twosome went viral for their messages, they cleared the air two days later. “I’m here with my archnemesis,” Jowsey said via his Instagram Story while posing with Mraz.

Jon Hamm’s ni**le piercings in Fargo aren’t real, but thanks to his “dedicated ni**leologist,” they’re pretty convincing.

The actor, 52, is set to star as Roy Tillman, a police sheriff, preacher and rancher, in the forthcoming fifth season of FX’s anthology series. When the show’s trailer debuted last month, fans got a first look at Hamm’s bare torso … and his character’s (fake) accessorized ni**les.

“I had to have some very blue latex put on my ni**les, and then they cast a resoundingly lifelike pair of ni**les, which they then pierced and placed over my own ni**les, and we shot said ni**les,” Hamm shared during a Fargo screening earlier this month. “The crew doesn’t get enough credit.”

He stars alongside Juno Temple (Dorothy “Dot” Lyon), Jennifer Jason Leigh (Lorraine) and Joe Keery (Gator), among others.

While Temple’s character finds herself “in hot water with the authorities,” Dot is “suddenly plunged back into a life she thought she had left behind,” according to FX’s official logline. Meanwhile in North Dakota, Hamm’s character “has been searching for Dot for a long time.”

During FX’s behind-the-scenes look at Fargo season 5, which was released on Monday, November 20, Hamm described his character as “somewhere mixed between Joe Arpaio and the Tiger King.”

Fargo, the TV series, is inspired by the 1996 movie of the same name which starred Frances McDormand, William H. Macy and Steve Buscemi. The show, created by Noah Hawley, premiered via FX in 2014 and is executive produced by Joel and Ethan Coen, who directed the original film.

Hawley, 56, teased that he opened Fargo season 5 with a connection to the movie by defining “Minnesota Nice.” (This season is set to take place in both Minnesota and North Dakota.)

Alison Sweeney surprised longtime Days of Our Lives fans in 2014 when she

When soap opera stars leave their roles, it can be as shocking as their shows’ plotlines.

Alison Sweeney surprised longtime Days of Our Lives fans in 2014 when she announced she’d be exiting the series after 21 years.

“I’ve been on Days of Our Lives since I was 16 years old, and I have never had more than a two-week vacation in that whole time,” the actress, who joined Days in 1993, said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show at the time. “I’m celebrating my 21st year, and I decided that it’s going to be my last year with the show.”

However, not all soap stars move on of their own accord. In 2019, Daniel Goddard revealed that he’d been ousted from The Young and the Restless.

“I am as shocked and gutted as you are,” Goddard, who played Cane Ashby on the daytime TV show, wrote via social media at the time.

After his General Hospital character, Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt, was fatally shot during a November 2023 episode, Howarth confirmed that he was leaving the show for good.
“Several weeks ago, I got a phone call from somebody I’ve known for a very long time who I love very dearly [executive producer Frank Valentini] telling me that when my contract was up at ABC, I would not be offered a new contract and that the character of Austin would be killed, and that this was something that [he] both wanted and needed to do to move [the] story,” he told Soap Opera Digest.

Burton, who joined General Hospital as Jason Morgan in 1991, announced he was exiting in 2012. "I've been through 21 years of ups and downs with GH — regime changes, cast and crew changes, budget cuts, shakeups of one kind or another, and it's been nothing but a huge positive in my life and for my family," he told TVGuide.com at the time. "I have no complaints, no negative feelings at all. But it's time to go. I'm going to take some time off and do nothing but relax, just enjoy life a little bit with my wife and kids."

Sweeney, who began on Days of Our Lives as Sami Brady back in 1993, announced in 2014 that she would be exiting the show after 21 years. "I decided that it's going to be my last year with the show," she said at the time. "I have worked so much, and my daughter just turned 5 and my son is 9, and I just want to be with them."

Greg Rikaart

Rikaart shared that he was leaving The Young and the Restless in 2017 after playing Kevin Fisher for 14 years. "I have such love and fondness for the cast and crew of Y&R that when I watch Kevin enjoying himself in scenes, it’s hard to know where he ends and Greg begins. At the moment it is unclear what lies ahead for Kevin and I, as we will be saying goodbye to Genoa City for a while," he said in a statement at the time. "I am sad to leave a place I hold so dear but also really excited about what the future holds, I cannot overstate how much gratitude I have to all of you who have been such loud cheerleaders for me. You’ve all enriched my life."

Davidson chose to exit The Young and the Restless in 2018, revealing via Twitter that although she felt "blessed to be able to play Ashley Abbott," she wanted "a little more control over my day to day." She first joined the series in 1984 but exited multiple times over the years.

Kristian Alfonso

After 37 years on Days of Our Lives, Alfonso announced she was exiting the series in July 2020. “I’ve been there for an incredibly long time and am hugely grateful that I was able to be a part of the Days of Our Lives family for as long as I was. But in the last few years, Days of Our Lives is not the Days of Our Lives as I know it,” she shared in an interview with Soap Opera Digest at the time. Upon leaving she "felt a sense of relief."

Greg Vaughan

In August 2020, Vaughan announced that he was leaving Days of Our Lives after eight years of portraying Eric Brady. "A lot of things that were said to me or promised to me never came to fruition,” the Queen Sugar actor told Soap Opera Digest at the time. "I didn’t feel like all of the things that were being told to me were being delivered. I felt like a glorified extra in everybody else’s story line, and I never felt like Ari [Zucker] and I were given a, ‘Hey, you’re going to be our couple.’ So, it was time. My deal was over and that was it."
He also noted that the door is not permanently closed and he would consider returning in the future if he was asked.
