Prince Andrew’s name comes up scores of times in newly unsealed US court documents

Fresh s*x abuse allegations against Prince Andrew are widely suspected to have dashed his hopes of a comeback.

Newly unsealed US court documents contain claims the Duke of York took part in an o**y with underage girls on Jeffrey Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean.

Longstanding allegations that he groped a woman’s breasts and s*xually assaulted Virginia Giuffre when she was 17 have also been aired again by the release of the filings, which are from a 2017 court case.

The King has reportedly decided to double down on efforts to freeze Andrew out of the royal family’s public face.

A decision was made under Queen Elizabeth II that her younger son would be barred from any official roles.

Reports suggest that, after ascending to the throne, Charles tried to push ahead with plans to evict Andrew from the 10-bedroom Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Andrew – who vehemently denies all allegations of wrongdoing – is said to have refused requests from his older brother to move into Frogmore Cottage, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lived before moving to the US.

While the 63-year-old played a public role in Charles’ coronation last year, such appearances could now become even rarer or non-existent.

According to the Daily Mail, royal insiders say the new Epstein papers will ‘crystallise’ Charles’ resolve to move Andrew out of the picture.

A source told the newspaper: ‘When it comes to any public role for his brother, there is no way back.

‘There has always been an agreement that Andrew would be permitted to attend private and family events, as is his right. But not public or official ones. That has not changed.’

Andrew’s name comes up more than 70 times in the first tranche of documents released so far, along with dozens of other high-profile associates.

One of Epstein’s accusers claims the pa******le billionaire told her to ‘give the prince whatever he demanded’ when he visited his island, Little Saint James.

The documents allege she was ‘forced to have s*xual relations with this prince when she was a minor in three separate geographical locations’.

She was then allegedly asked to ‘report back to him on details of the s*xual abuse’.

Andrew settled a US civil case brought by Ms Giuffre for £12 million in 2022.

Another accuser, Johanna Sjoberg, said the Duke put his hand on her breast for a photo in 2001.

Ms Giuffre was said to be present, and it was claimed that a Spitting Image puppet of Andrew was also involved. He has previously denied these claims.

The court case which produced the newly unsealed documents saw Ms Giuffre sue Ghislaine Maxwell, a friend of Andrew and Epstein who trafficked girls for the late billionaire, for defamation.

The case was settled in Giuffre’s favour, although this does not mean all the allegations in the documents were proven or corroborated.

Epstein died in 2019 while in prison awaiting trial on s*x trafficking charges.

Ghislaine Maxwell, 62, is in a US jail serving a 20-year sentence imposed in 2021.

A 17-year-old boy has died after the car he was in crashed into a tree during a police chase.

The crash happened in the early hours of Friday morning in Halesowen, West Midlands and two 16-year-olds who were also in the car have been arrested on suspicion of theft.

Police say the crash happened ‘moments’ after the car failed to stop for police at 3.15am.

The 17-year-old was declared dead at the scene, and both 16-year-olds were taken to hospital with injuries which aren’t believed to be serious.

The crash has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

A West Midlands Police statement said: ‘The 17-year-old boy was in a car which failed to stop for police moments before hitting a tree, near the junction of Coombs Road and Amber Way, at just after 3.15am.

‘Sadly nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A disgraced children’s doctor who arranged to meet an underage boy for s*x on hospital grounds has been struck off the medical register.

Salman Siddiqi, 45, was lured into a trap by a self-professed ‘pa******le hunter’ who pretended to be a 14-year-old boy and arranged to meet the consultant at his lodgings at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (QEQM) in Margate, Kent.

But when the amateur detective confronted Siddiqi outside his accommodation at 3am on January 8 last year, he turned and ran through the hospital’s A&E department in a desperate bid to flee.

The vigilante called the police and chased after Siddiqi as he tried scrambling away, using his hospital access card to enter restricted areas.

He was arrested two hours later, and subsequently pleaded guilty to engaging in s*xual communication with a child and attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of a s*x offence and jailed for 28 months.

It was later revealed that the intensive care paediatrician had been allowed to continue treating children despite previously receiving a police caution for flashing.

Siddiqi, who is being held at HMP Maidstone, chose not to attend his three-day hearing at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, based in Manchester.

The tribunal panel found Sidiqqi’s actions undermined his fitness to practise, and he was struck off.

Once a doctor has been erased from the register they are unable to practice and must wait five years before applying to have their name restored, however due to the nature of the Siddiqi’s conviction it is unlikely he will ever be granted a licence to practice again.

An interim order of suspension had been in place regarding Siddiqi while awaiting the hearing, which was due to expire at the end of the month.

Siddiqi’s sentencing hearing at Canterbury Crown Court heard how he used gay dating app Grindr to converse with a pa******le hunter claiming to be a 14-year-old boy called Lee.

The doctor also lied about his age on his profile, saying he was 32 when in fact he was 44.

‘Mr Siddiqi engaged with “Lee” on the Grindr app and asked him to come to his home for oral s*x and sent pictures of his erect pen*s,” prosecutor Amy Nicholson said.

‘He asked him to come to his place of work to meet him at the QEQM, where the defendant was working at the time as a paediatric doctor.’

The pair started talking on January 7, with ‘Lee’ making it clear he was underage, the court heard.

The amateur detective asked: ‘Are you okay with me being 14?’

‘Yes’ Siddiqi replied.

In later messages, when asked if he wanted to meet, Siddiqi said: ‘It is not allowed by law otherwise I would’ve loved it.’

The vigilante wrote: ‘I can sneak out, my mum’s sleeping. We could have some fun together but I’m pretty new to this and I’m nervous. I’m just 14 and not done this before.’

Siddiqi responded by reassuring his target and encouraging him to take part in s*xual acts.

During his trial, Kevin Dent KC, mitigating, said Siddiqi had an ‘unblemished’ record as a doctor who ‘deeply regrets his conduct’.

He also told how the offending had happened in a ‘depressive episode’ and that Siddiqi was willing to address his behaviour.

The barrister said: ‘At the time, Mr Siddiqi was struggling with the stresses and strains of caring for a severely disabled four-year-old son and the trauma of his condition.

‘He was also trying to cope with his attraction to adult males.’

He added the former doctor had become a ‘figure of shame and embarrassment to those who know him’.

Police previously cautioned Siddiqi for flashing his ge****ls in daylight in a London nature reserve in 2019.

He failed to tell the General Medical Council (GMC) about the caution, and in January 2021 started working for East Kent Hospitals, which runs the QEQM.

Siddiqi was employed by the trust through a recruitment agency called ProMedical, but despite the fact his police caution would have shown on a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate, it was not picked up by either.

Two months later, Siddiqi told GMC officials about the caution following an ‘informal discussion’ with a senior colleague.

At the hearing this week panel members, Dr Srinivasarao Babarao, Susan Hurds and chairman Kamran Choudhry, were told to take into account that Siddiqi had failed to follow through with the remediation steps he had committed to following his previous suspension.

When assessing whether the conviction impaired Siddiqi’s ability to practise medicine they raised the ‘significant risk of repetition’, the possibility the former paediatrician could reoffend, as a major factor in their decision making.

The General Medical Council’s representative at the hearing, Nigel Grundy, stated that the body’s view was that Siddiqi’s erasure from the profession was the only appropriate sanction.

A dangerous cold weather alert has been issued for a spell expected to start on Saturday and last until at least next Friday.

Parts of Britain could turn into an ice rink in the coming days as freezing temperatures harden rain-soaked earth.

Forecasts indicate temperatures across the country will plummet into the low single digits at the start of the weekend.

They will then dip down to freezing in much of northern England from Sunday evening, according to Met Office predictions.

Health officials expect a rise in deaths among the elderly and vulnerable people, with many people likely to struggle to keep their homes warm.

‘A brisk easterly wind developing across the south over the weekend will make it feel much colder, with the added wind chill,’ the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said.

It added: ‘Temperatures are likely to be a few degrees below average, across much of the UK, especially overnight, with more widespread frosts than of late.’

Some 250 flood warnings remain in place across England on Friday afternoon, with many roads submerged and more than 1,000 homes and businesses flooded.

A new social media trend that encourages people to share personal information about themselves has been described as a ‘field day’ for hackers – and also catapulted one TikToker into her own ‘Truman show’.

The hashtag has been used hundreds of thousands of times on Instagram alone, with users posting answers to questions including their name, age, likes, dislikes, pets’ names and star sign.

However, cybersecurity experts have warned the information is a treasure trove for hackers, who can use the information to either create convincing fake profiles pretending to be Instagram users, or create more credible phishing emails.

‘Knowledge is power for scammers, and the recent “get to know me” template circulating on Instagram and TikTok serves as a potential goldmine for fraudsters, providing them with a treasure trove of personal information,’ said NordVPN cybersecurity expert Adrianus Warmenhoven.

‘From age and height to zodiac signs and pet names, this data can be exploited in various ways, offering insights into passwords or enabling scammers to create more convincing fake profiles using the intimate details of users’ lives.

‘A hacker can use your details to create more plausible phishing emails that are tailored to impersonate you and target your contacts to trick them into downloading malware or revealing their financial information.’

The warning bell was first sounded by TikToker Eliana Shiloh, who posted a video warning people about the trend.

She warned anyone who had already taken part in the trend to ‘delete that sh*t right now’ after almost joining in herself.

‘I won’t lie, I almost fell victim to this,’ she said. ‘I literally started filling it out, and then I was like, “Wait a damn minute”.

‘These are the answers to a lot of my security questions – the creepy creeps of the cyberweb are going to have a field day with this trend.’

Her video prompted quite a reaction.

Some of her followers accused her of being paranoid, and argued their date of birth had nothing to do with their security questions.

‘Obviously, no one’s security question is ‘What is your birthday?’ But using your birthday, they can find out many things about you and use that information to get into some of your accounts,’ she said in a follow-up video.

‘But using your birthday they can find out a lot about you, and use that information to get into your accounts.

‘And security questions are not that hard to figure out.’

However, her videos were picked up by a number of news outlets, including the New York Post and Mail Online, describing her as a ‘cybersecurity expert’.

Eliana, a cyber and strategic risk analyst at Deloitte joked that she had only been in the role 18 months, and wouldn’t describe herself as that. However, she added: ‘Shout out to all the people who thought I was being paranoid or having a blonde moment – well, the New York Post has declared me a cybersecurity expert!’

She later posted another video, joking that after ‘dozens and dozens’ of stories about her warning were published, she experienced a ‘Truman Show-like moment’.

But expert or not, Eliana’s comments are 100% correct when it comes to not sharing personal information on social media.

‘The best way to avoid putting your security at risk is to avoid these trends altogether,’ added Adrianus.

‘But if you choose to engage, ensure that your profile settings are configured to be private. If your profile is public, make sure you are monitoring who is viewing your story and block any suspicious users.

‘What may initially appear as a harmless social media trend can inadvertently expose individuals to unforeseen threats.’
