Have you spotted our members with the fire trucks at local grocery stores? Hereโs the scoop!
The members of L-321 proudly staff six fire stations throughout Racine. We operate on a unique California schedule: 24 hours on duty followed by 24 hours off, and then another 24-hour shift, followed by 24 hours off, and a final 24-hour shift before enjoying 96 hours off. This routine allows us to cook meals together during our shifts, with each station taking turns in the kitchen to keep mealtime exciting! Weโre fortunate to have talented cooks from diverse backgrounds, bringing a variety of delicious flavors to our meals!
When you see us at the grocery store, weโre often purchasing meals for our shifts. Our members pitch in with personal funds to buy food, ensuring we share meals while on duty. This not only keeps costs down but also supports local businesses in our community. Plus, this teamwork helps us stay prepared for emergenciesโif something comes up while we're shopping, we can respond quickly by hopping into our vehicle!
