We’d like to welcome owner Rami Badra and Relapse Clothing Store to the city of Kenner.
This store in the Kenner Market Center, 2305 Esplanade Ave., is Rami’s second business. His first business is in Shreveport.
Rami said he chose Kenner because of the safe environment provided by the Kenner Police Department and Kenner Fire Department and because it is a convenient location for customers and his vendors.
Rami’s offers men’s and kid’s clothing and shoes.

KENNER BLACK HERITAGE FESTIVAL HELD THIS WEEKEND IN RIVERTOWN
BBQ DRIVE-THRU FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT 6TH GRADE ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON SCHOOL TEACHER KAYLA DUNN CONTINUES UNTIL 7 P.M.
This drive-thru event, put on by the Divine Mercy Parish Men’s Club with the assistance of Mr. Pigglesworth BBQ, is continuing until 7 p.m. this evening at 4337 Sal Lentini Parkway. BBQ chicken plates are $12 and the money will go to Kayla Dunn to help in her battle against cancer.
KUSTOMLY KREATED RIBBON CUTTING
We’d like to welcome Konnie Higginbottom and Kustomly Kreated, 2327 Veterans Blvd., to the city of Kenner.
Konnie, who has lived in the city for more than 25 years, said customizing different things started as a hobby and now she is excited to take the next step.
She said she likes the direction the city is headed and that’s the reason she chose Kenner for her business.

PERKS COFFEE AND CAFÉ RIBBON CUTTING
We’d like to welcome owners David and Ashley Varnado and Perks Coffee and Café, 2240 Veterans Blvd., to Kenner.
This is their second business – they opened a location in Metairie in 2016. This store opened in the summer of 2021, just a month before Ida arrived, and we are happy to be able to hold this event today.
David and Ashley said they chose Kenner because they wanted to be a part of the growth they have seen in the city in recent years. They are happy to provide fresh options in a drive-thru location, which is something they believe is unique for the city.
Perks serves breakfast and lunch all day, and while the dining room is beautiful and everyone is welcome to eat inside, the drive-thru is very convenient and delivery is also available through local services.
Perks has healthy menu items and is well known for its coffee. In addition, all of the salad dressings and soups are made from scratch.

PHO HOUSE CAFÉ RIBBON CUTTING
We’d like to welcome Pho House Café and owner James Le to the city.
Pho House Café, 2305 W. Esplanade Ave., relocated from Florida and is James’ first business in Kenner.
James said Kenner was recommended to him by a number of friends and colleagues as “a safe city with good people, a good mayor and a friendly attitude toward businesses.”
Pho House offers a variety of authentic Vietnamese cuisine, also relying on fresh and health ingredients. Soups, noodles and meats are 100 percent fresh, never frozen, and the soups are prepared using purified water.

We’d like to welcome Addy Gharbi and Sunny Side Up Restaurant, located at 2619 Williams Blvd., to the city of Kenner.
Addy said this is his second business – he has one in Harahan. Addy described Kenner as a great place to start a business because we have a good, clean community and a lot of traffic on Williams Boulevard.
Sunny Side Up serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with choices including pancakes, funnel cake, French toast, waffles, eggs, hot sandwiches and more.

DEBRIS COLLECTION UPDATE
As of Oct. 25, a total of 134,493 cubic yards of vegetative debris and 70,611 cubic yards of construction and demolition (C&D) debris had been picked up.
That is equivalent to more than 2.8 million full wheelbarrow loads.
Debris collection continues throughout the city seven days a week.
