Life on the Kenai is all about talking with local residents, schools, and business owners about whats happening in our communities, and keeping everyone informed on the events and opportunities available in our area. Kenai is starting to widen the gap in the King of the River competition! Which city will come out on top this Friday? Both cities have raised an incredible amount of food and funds for our neighbors. Only 300 more pounds till we reach a total of 45,000!

Been wondering about the current rules on personal fires and on any burning here on the Kenai? Tune in tomorrow at 920AM/92.5FM at 11am to Life on the Kenai! The Forestry Department will be giving us an update on the current fires, what we all need to be aware of, and what to watch out for this summer season.

Youth-Fishery Alert! 🎣

There are two upcoming youth-only king salmon fisheries on the lower Kenai Peninsula for anglers 15 years and younger:

🔹Saturday, June 1 at the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon (NDFL) on the Homer Spit. Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) staff will be present at the NDFL from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on June 1. Loaner fishing rods will be available to check out and use on a first-come basis.

🔹Wednesday, June 5 on the Ninilchik River. ADF&G staff will be present from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. located in the parking lot immediately north of the Ninilchik River Sterling Highway bridge. Loaner fishing rods will be available to check out and use on a first-come basis.

Country singer Lee Brice wrote this song "I Drive Your Truck" in response to a soldier who died trying to save his trapped comrade.
