Looking for a great brand photographer? Check out Brittany Hirst Photography. Great job on this shoot!

We had the Broke Photo shoot! Despite the heat and smoke from the fires Brittany got some epic pics of the new products coming out! Brittany Hirst Photography Snapped a pic of us as well!
We are the founders of Broke Supply Company. So.... you can put a face with who's shipping your bag and answering your questions. I come to Ryan with what I think we need on a bag & then Ryan, an industrial product designer, does all the design from sketch to finished product. He then oversees all the manufacturing and brings me samples to try. I crack a can and get out there on the trail solo or with Ryan to test them out! We then finalize the comments on the bags and bring them to you. Cheers to more products on the way!!!!! Make it a great day, Annie and Ryan đŸ„‚

Excited to be working with Cartoni moving forward as a brand ambassador. They have always been one of my favorite tripods to work on. Lately I have been working mostly on the Focus 10 which is a great tripod but shortly I should be receiving a Focus 22. I'll do a video of the features shortly after I receive it.
All that to say if you are looking for a new tripod give Cartoni a look. You won't regret it!

Brittany Hirst Photography and I had a great time at River Feast supporting the Deschutes River Conservancy. Such a cool organization making sure our Oregon rivers are healthy for generations to come! We were even lucky enough to win a stand up paddle board! (Great little bonus!)

and I had a great time going to the and gallery at the earlier this month. I have admired and looked up to these photographers for years so when I heard they had a galley somewhere I had access to I was so excited to go! These images are just breathtaking. I have seen each of them before, however seeing them printed like this is a whole new level. Photography is meant to be printed.
Thank you Paul and Cristina for being such an inspiration for photographers and conservationists alike. I hope to have impact on a similar level to you someday.

Preparing for this post I was looking for a deep and meaningful quote to include like, “Many men go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after." - Henry David Thoreau
However, I came across one much more fitting.
"There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot." - Steven Wright
The gentleman in the photograph is fishing and I am standing on the shore like an idiot 😂,

Sunrises are a beautiful thing for me. If you have not recently sat and simply watched the sunrise with no other agenda than to watch the sunrise you need to. We live in a culture so wrapped up in technology, the next meeting, making your boss happy, paying your mortgage we often forget to stop and listen. Getting still and quiet and just watching God’s artwork come to light will do more for you than you can imagine. Trust me give it a try. If you don’t enjoy it, well go back to bed.

“At once [the buffalo] is a symbol of the tenacity of wilderness and the destruction of wilderness; it's a symbol of Native American culture and the death of Native American culture; it's a symbol of the strength and vitality of America and the pettiness and greed of America; it represents a frontier both forgotten and remembered; it stands for freedom and captivity, extinction and salvation.”
― Steven Rinella, American Buffalo: In Search of a Lost Icon

These creatures fascinate me as much as their story saddens me. Bison used to roam this country in the millions but were in perfect balance with the landscape. In a matter of 50 years, their population dropped from over 30 million down to around 300. Stories like this amaze and depress me. Humankind craves destruction and death.

Strive to be different, look for beauty in the wild things of our world. They are here for a reason and are doing more to keep things in balance than you might recognize.

Today there are over 500,000 bison in the United States. This is a perfect example that we are capable of starting to fix things we have broken, but we have a lot more work to do in order to not ruin our forests, our prairies, our deserts, our oceans, and everything in between.

Huge shout out to for helping me prepare for filming in -6Âș while in Yellowstone last week. Getting outdoor equipment doesn’t have to be expensive. There are used equipment stores call over so don’t let needing gear stop you from going outside. I bought about $1200 worth of nearly new gear for $300 for this trip (I could have done it for less but I over prepared) It all has plenty of life left and will last me for years. What is your biggest barrier to getting outside?

Thank you for snapping some behind the scenes photos. This trip has been a huge success. In the last 24 hours we have filmed/photographed
Coyotes eating a bison
TONS of bison 🩬
TONS of elk 🩌
Bald eagles 🩅
A red fox 🩊
A pack of wolves đŸș
And so much more.

Your attitude and mindset change when you spend time outside.

I would love some help with an ID on this bird. and I trekked out to Crater Lake earlier this week and were amazed at all the amazing birding opportunities. This guy was chowing down on his dinner from these pine cones. It was so fun to just sit and watch him. Video coming tomorrow of him!

We sleep with our windows open this time of year. It has a awesome way making me sleep so deeply
except for last night. I was woken up at about 12am by two owls having an at length discussion. I just laid there and listen to them for an hour hooting back and forth at each other. Nature is amazing, be sure to take some time and enjoy it!

Are you tired of the Metolius photos yet? If you can't tell I LOVE this river! There are so many beautiful twists and turns to this river and it just has a way of clearing your mind in a way that I feel only rivers can do. Are you or do you know a river expert? I have a project I would love to discuss with someone who has knowledge of the larger stories of American rivers. Send me a DM!

Walking this river is one of my most favorite places on earth. We call Camp Sherman, Oregon our home. 1/4 mile from our home is this AMAZING place where thoughts are clearer, smells are cleaner, creativity flourishes, and you remember what is most important. Don't discount what going outside can do for you mentally on so many levels. Get outside. Find yourself.

The Pacific North West Coast is quickly becoming one of my favorite places. I could make an entire book on the lighthouses of the PNW. This is the Yaquina Head Lighthouse outside of Newport, Oregon. This place has incredible views and amazing wildlife viewing. We watched a grey whale feeding just offshore, seals playing in the surf, bald eagles eating on the cliffside, and we even saw a peregrine falcon.

Recently Brittany and I took a trip to Bellingham, Washington. She was there photographing some Andalusian horses. Check out her IG at for those shots. While she was there for horses I was there for landscapes. I saw this set of railroad tracks on the side of the highway. I absolutely loved this look.

Have you ever been to Big Bend National Park? It is one of my favorite places on the face of our planet. Located in West Texas it has the darkest sky in the lower 48 states. This is the park along with that I really started to skink my teeth into landscape photography. This is also the park where I learned that deserts are FAR from wastelands. They are a beautiful ecosystem with so much character.
This shot, in particular, is from Ernst Tinaja. An amazing trail that definitely warrants a visit.

This waterfall is actually pretty sentimental to me. During a week-long stay in the African jungle outside of Malabo Equatorial Guinea, I was invited to stay with some scientists studying sea turtles. This gorgeous pool was both our bath and our cool-off area. The air was SO hot and muggy, and the water was SO cold. I could just sit and stare at this until the end of time.
Fun story, I walked down here in the middle of the night to do some night photography, on the way you cross a small river. While crossing the river I made the poor decision to shine my flashlight down the river bank. Now for those who don't know but if you shine a light on a person or an animal at night one of the first things you will see is what we call "eye shine" the eyes just light up. Well... I shined my light down the river bank and there were no less than 100 pairs of eyes looking back at me. I couldn't make out what the eyes belonged to just the eyes themselves so I turned off my light and let my eyes adjust to the darkness but I never did see what was actually on the river bank. I just prayed that whatever they were, they stayed there while I did my thing.
