Avery has played a crucial role in developing skills for the Friday Night Crew and various other Kaufman ISD Productions. Conner has served the Friday Night Football Video Board crew for 2 years. He has been the Instant Replay Editor and directed a few games too! Conner has an interest in Land Surveying as a career. High Tech Career Training-Right Now! Kaufman High School A/V Production students are using the new Daktronics Video Board to train for careers in the video production industry. Students are using skills they learn to prepare for working with Fortune 500 companies, college and professional sports organizations, and broadcast networks. They are also entering self employment fields like wedding videography and photography. We have many students already working in the industry across the state and nation. Many of these companies do not require college degrees, only the certifications we currently offer in the KHS CTE program. SMAT stands for Studio, Media, and Technology. In 2012 Kaufman High School began the SMAT program with 2 camcorders and a laptop. We had 40 students and in 2 classes. We now have a state of the art studio. 6 classes and nearly 200 students in the program. We are content creators and are looking to the future of broadcasting. In the spring of 2018 we became an official Twitch partner. We look forward to creating quality live content on the Twitch Platform.
