Make48, the “world’s fastest invention competition”, is the nationwide invention documentary series that gives teams exactly 48 hours to come up with an idea and build a prototype based on a challenge. Teams present their working prototype and promotional video to a panel of judges. One winning team wins a cash prize! Make48 is the brainchild of a group of Kansas City-based inventors who have been

developing and launching products for decades. Their passion for inventing and problem solving led to the creation of Make48. The series is unscripted and consists of experts, entrepreneurs and the everyday inventor’s race to beat the clock and come up with the next big idea. This little southern belle in the middle has joined our team as our summer intern! We are ecstatic to welcome her to the family and cannot wait to watch her conquer her goals.

We first met Reese at The Delta School event earlier this year where she was a tool tech and then again at the Maker Playground event where she joined us as a Make48 volunteer. Here's to a summer of fun and growth!

Indiana FFA students from seven local high schools spent their weekend competing with Make48 at Fishers Maker Playground.

Corteva Agriscience came up with the challenge theme, which instructed the teams to create an interactive display.

There were three awards handed out after the teams had completed their prototypes and pitches. And the winners are:

1st Place Innovation and Best Pitch: Hamilton Southeastern FFA Team from Hamilton Southeastern Schools

Best Agilities: Team Agricadabra from Purdue Polytechnic High School Broad Ripple- "PPHS Broad Ripple"

This past weekend students from blind and visually impaired schools, from six different states, competed in our Make48 competition. During their 48-hour time limit they had an opportunity to shop for supplies, that would aid them in their build, at Westlake Ace Hardware using a pre-loaded gift card.

Westlake ACE associates were more than accommodating to our participants and helped them find everything they needed. We are proud to have such a great partnership with an amazing business that employs even better people.

Adding braille to the awards at our KSSB competition was a must for our Tool Techs. With the help of our Epilog Laser, engravings were made so that all visually impaired students could read the plaques.
