Miki Gorman was described as soft-spoken and small in stature. At just over 5 feet, some expected she would get lost in the pack as she embarked on her career as a marathon runner. But Gorman made a habit of breaking expectations. She won her first marathon and then she kept on winning. To this day, Gorman is the only woman to win the NYC Marathon and Boston Marathon twice.
