digital detox has been helpful so far 🫶
🩵 unplugging from your devices isn’t just about taking a break from screens; it’s about giving your brain and body a well-deserved rest
🩵 recent research shows that ditching the digital world can seriously cut down on stress and anxiety, boost your sleep, and make you feel all-around better
😴one study found that cutting screen time before bed improved sleep quality by 30% (smith et al., 2021)
🤩another discovered that a week-long digital detox can drop stress hormone levels by 25% (brown & williams, 2022)

✨ persistent stressors, including the ongoing impact of COVID-19, economic challenges, and geopolitical conflicts, continue to fuel the rise in mental health issues globally
✨ despite increased awareness, there remain significant gaps in mental health care provision, with many regions lacking adequate resources to address the growing demand
✨ the proportion of adults experiencing moderate to severe depressive symptoms nearly doubled from 10% in 2019 to 19% in june 2020
🍉 displaced individuals and refugees, both within Palestine and in neighboring countries, face unique mental health challenges. the loss of homes, livelihoods, and the constant uncertainty of their future contribute to high levels of psychological distress
✨ in the united states, the CDC reported that the percentage of adults with recent symptoms of an anxiety or depressive disorder increased from 36.4% in august 2020 to 41.5% in February 2021. the CDC also noted increased substance use and suicidal ideation during this period

LETS F**KIN GOOOO!!!!!! 🙌🏼🥳
sometimes it takes weeks anddd sometimes it takes longer than you think
and you’ll get there ❤️

it’s a journey to say the least
#mentalhealth #therapy #mentalhealthhumor #therapyhumor #therapymemes
did i need space or was it a major depressive episode 🤪
our space sometimes gets cluttered when we feel low. on the other hand, there are people who like to clean when they’re feeling off ❤️

Organized spontaneity, say lessss! (and I get to be surprised too!) Can’t wait to make some amazing memories 🥹🥰
Although it feels spontaneous for us, it certainly isn’t for @packupandgo. In all of my past trips, they’ve taken the time to create experiences and book accommodations that are well within our interests and desires. It’s just such a fun experience! #surprisetrip #packupandgoambassador
new small habits ✨
this one isnt meant for those huge life decisions
the goal isnt to minimize your feelings about how important this is to you. bc it is! we can hold space for both: this is v meaningful for me and im gonna just show up without expectations and see how it goes ❤️
sometimes when we categorize it as a ~silly lil experiment~ instead of a monumental life change we put less pressure on ourselves to “do it right” and we feel more confident to try something new

this should have happened way sooner
is my brain even on my side? 🫠😂
our brain is designed to keep us safe (not necessarily happy all the time)- sometimes this comes out in our self talk. if we focus on the negative, we’ll know what to expect, right? 😅
well, not always.
acknowledging ~certain~ thoughts can be helpful, but staying with these thoughts might not be useful all of the time 💭
our internal dialogue can be influenced by our emotions, past experiences, beliefs, the perceptions of others, cultural and spiritual experiences, and more ❤️
you might really like yourself and still have random thoughts like “you aren’t good enough!” 😒
and sometimes, thoughts are simply thoughts. we can’t really explain them, they might not have a “purpose” or they may be intrusive thoughts (ie disturbing / unwanted thoughts that aren’t aligned with your values, that make you feel uncomfortable). with intrusive thoughts, we usually label them as such and try to keep it moving. because it’s ~usually~ not helpful to focus on those type of thoughts ✨

scheduled worry time 🕧
very brief overview here - and it’s not the only tactic that can be helpful - there are plenty more!

should i cancel my next therapy session 🤪
🌱🪻🌲🌴🌳🏝️🏕️☀️🌦️🌻
oh the great outdoors ☀️ can be so helpful for mental health and wellbeing. i try to get outside even for an intentional five minutes a day if i can 😍

the power of taking inventory 💅🏼
what small things (that you have control over 😇) are you doing everyday, that aren’t serving you?
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
we know how this ends 😒
💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
focusing on your health can be helpful
… and sometimes it can cause rumination ❤️
if you’re concerned and have access to healthcare, it’s not a bad idea to get a check up
a doc with your bloodwork, history, and a relationship with you specifically, most likely knows you better than web md does ❤️
and we do need better access to affordable healthcare so can someone make web md premium or something 😂

sometimes we feel depleted or exhausted after therapy - for a variety of reasons ❤️ other times we may feel energized or uplifted in some way. how do you usually feel after therapy?
