Arson Suspected in Fire!!!!!
According to City of Kankakee Assistant Chief, Frank Perkins, a fire at 894 West Station is being investigated as Arson. JT Taylor of the Kankakee Edition learned this morning that a dog with the State Fire Marshall hit on products that investigator believe may have been used to start the blaze that injured 2 children who were found unresponsive and were sent to both Provena St. Mary's Hospital and Riverside Medical Center respectfully and then both Air lifted to Chicago area hospitals.
3 adult civilians were injured and taken to area hospitals. One Fireman was injured with burns to the face but is back to active duty after having been released from the hospital. The Kankakee City Fire Department responded to the fire after being dispatched at 1:47 am. They rescued several of the victims from the second story windows. It took approx. one hour to get the blaze under control.
