As Title IX guidelines regarding sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination, implemented by President Donald Trump in his first presidency, are reinstated, Western Michigan University’s Title IX coordinators are making changes to comply with 2020 rules that outline “the definition of sexual harassment, the procedural protections owed to complainants and respondents, the provision of supportive measures to complainants, and school-level reporting processes.”

In an effort to bring forth Western Michigan University’s leaders of tomorrow, Western Herald introduced its first collection of 24 hard working students in April 2024 to illuminate individuals who deserve the spotlight for their passions. Titled “24 of 2024,” this list was published in the last print edition of the 2023-24 academic year.

“24 of 2024” was by no means all encompassing, however. There are still so many Broncos who deserve the chance to be recognized for their accomplishments and drive. Therefore, Western Herald is introducing “25 of 2025: an opportunity for students to recognize students.”

The difference from last year’s edition? We’re asking for nominations from students to look beyond the scope of just our headlines.
