This one’s to walking into new seasons + new versions of ourselves 👟👟

Even after almost 20 years of being a self-starter, a biz owner, creative free spirit, this next season still makes me nervous. The bar has been raised, and I won’t lie—it’s feels scary and uncomfortable af, but also feeling so fkn exciting and grateful to know that these new doors couldn’t have ever opened without the closing of other ones, without putting in the work, the time, the love, the energy to keep steadily moving the needle of my own life.

One thing I’ve learned from years in this game, it’s that our impact isn’t measured in posts, likes, or engagement. Presence is bigger than an algorithm. Essence is deeper than visibility. What most are doing on the gram or for the gram doesn’t have s**t to do with you or what’s meant for you.

So keep fkn going.
Here’s to what’s next for us, for you.
To quiet seasons that prepare us for bigger ones. To walking away so we can walk into something greater. And to always—*always*—coming back stronger.

Life doesn’t always go as planned, and I’m learning as a full time planner of all the things - it’s alll *G. I had all these big plans for a traditional brand relaunch to share the exciting changes happening at Geeky Mamas Studios… but in true Geeky Mama style, I decided to let it flow.

So here it is: no grand announcements, no fancy build-up—just my new brand, bold and beautiful, ready to take center stage! Tah-dah! ✨

Over the past year, I’ve worked tirelessly to grow my team, build systems, and restructure my business to align with my life. And with all that came the moment to re-shine not just my business, but also myself.

A bold, spicy, creative reflection of me and everything my business stands for. While our new website is still on the way, the brand is live—and I couldn’t be more excited to move forward!

Moving into a new season of my life, my career, my businesses, I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU! 🫶🏽

Thank you for coming alongside this Geeky Mama journey with me, for booking my services, for referring a friend, for coming back to me over the years, for supporting my projects and creative ideas, for attending my workshops and trainings, for listening to my short lived podcast show, for calling me when you needed tech support or were starting a new business, for coming by my office, for buying my book, for dropping my name in rooms of opportunity when I wasn’t around, thank you for all the beautiful memories and for supporting and loving me in all my seasons and in all the ways seen and unseen,

Im not sure who wants to hear this but I’m sharing it anyway…while I Riverdance on this beat 😜🎶👇🏽

Having a side hustle or small business around a digital skill set is really up right now. Regardless of Ai or the naysayers that think robots are coming to replace us, until they do… I’m here living proof that you can learn a digital skill set or two or three or four, create a side hustle or “little” business and earn an income to help pay for the life you want.

Last month alone my “little” business and her “little” geeky digital skills made me $(doubledigit)K - I think mentioning this number will have those here watching really hating on me so if you’re curious to know that number - holler and I’ll send receipts. 🧾

I share this because the truth is right now more than ever before we are being priced out of our Hawai’i and it fn hurts.

I don’t know what the many issues, causes or solutions are for this but I do know that I can play a part by doing what I can do to “teach one, reach one”.

For me, it’s been in the form of this “geeky” thing — some see it as a “little” business but this business and skill set has allowed me to earn a scalable income, work for myself and honestly feel confident in how I serve others. This here is big bizness!!! ☺️🤓

This has been my new season arriving to a place and space whereas I continue to serve my family, my community, my projects - I also feel a HUGE YES! to creating a private container to teach those interested, open and ready to learn how to harness these same digital skills and tool sets I use for their own business and/or to build and launch their own creative side hustle or full time thing to start earning an income that can afford us staying here in Hawai’i. It could also mean, applying for jobs and work in the digital space too! 🤓

My heart and intention is to teach and share this skill set as a tool and means to help others also earn a viable income - because that announcement last week on Civil Beat about an “affordable” income wage of $55/hr was for adults with no kids. 🤔 what’s the rate for a mama with 2 kids who doesn’t just want to “afford” living??? Asking for a friend….

Here I am, one year ish later.
Realizing how much can happen in a year when you surround yourself with people who want to see you
thrive, excel, learn, grow and allow you to be authentically YOU! ✨

Never ever did I think I’d be here, now graduate of Hawai’i’s top Civic Leadership training program.

Not sure where it’s taking me
But, I’m here for it —
Not for me but for my kids,
for our future of our Home state.

I use to think “politics isn’t for me”
Now I’ve learned it still isn’t 🥰🤭😜🤓 jks!
But seriously, if not me then who?
If not you, then who? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Now is the time to get involved in
our communities, on any level that aligns for you.
It doesn’t have to mean becoming a “candidate”, it can be getting involved, speaking up, learning how to advocate on issues that matter to you.

This program has definitely prepared and trained your girl into her next level… and I can’t wait to share and see where this is taking me. Mahalo PRP, the P4D team and alumni and to my Cohort II members for the many hours and weekends we all put in to learn together and from one another. This entire group is not only beyond brilliant but they have hearts of gold to serve their communities! Grateful to be the “auntie” in the group 🤭 but also to be amongst each of you!

8 websites / platforms I learned how to use to start my creative business + earn my own stream of income + help other entrepreneurs and business while not be stressedddttt about an algorithm or having bazillion followers. 🤓

Websites I use daily:

1️⃣ Godaddy - domain, emails, hosting and free website platform

2️⃣ Wix - an easy to use platform for simple yet professional websites! Tons of easy app plugins and shop capabilities

3️⃣ Squarespace - my favorite platform! Beautiful templates to use, e-commerce and membership capabilities and cohesive easy to use email marketing tools all in one platform.

4️⃣ Canva - we’ll duhhh! If you don’t know Canva, for sure for sure join my next Canva workshop! 🤓

5️⃣ Pixabay - FREE licensed professional images for your website use and marketing collateral

6️⃣ Chat GPT - learn how to use this one correctly and start acting like the scholar you are! Just be sure to make it you - adding your magic sauce is the real trick.

7️⃣ Shopify - My Go To for E-commerce sites! Have your online sales and your retail or mobile business POS system all in one platform.

8️⃣ Show It - I loveeee a chic + stylish website from Show It! Design a gorgeous site with Show It & strut your web skills 🤓
