First, a big THANK YOU to all who submitted!

We've finally finished tallying up the submissions. We received a total of 351 submissions from 119 artists! 24% of the writing and 44% of the art were UAS students.
If you submitted, keep an eye on your email in March to see if you got in, and watch out for the launch date in April.

It has been so fun working with Tidal Echoes this semester. I hope everyone has a great winter break. I can't wait to see the 2025 journal!

Join us at the Writing Center on Friday (11/22) for all your Tidal Echoes needs! Writing Center tutors Sophia and Ian will be there to help refine your pieces and aid with the submission process. Thank you to the Writing Center for hosting this peer-review sesh! 📝

Introducing our Tidal Echoes 2025 Featured Writer: Corinna Cook!

Corinna Cook is the author of Leavetakings, an essay collection. She is a former Fulbright Fellow, an Alaska Literary Award recipient, and a Rasmuson Foundation Individual Project awardee. She is currently funded by a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities to write about the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission. Corinna serves as nonfiction faculty in Alaska Pacific University’s low-res MFA program in creative writing. More at corinnacook.com.

Tidal Echoes Launch TONIGHT at 7PM in the Egan Lecture Hall! Stop by to hear our amazing featured writer and artist present and other UAS student and community members read. We have snacks, too 😉 (reminder: we can only accept cash payments at the launch, journals are $5)

Every year the editors of the journal collaborate to choose a person or group to dedicate the journal to. This year we've chosen UAS Dean of Arts & Sciences Carin Silkaitis. They do so much to support the work of this journal and to lift up the creative and hard-working students at UAS. Thank you Carin!

Tidal Echoes books are in! Don’t forget to grab your copy at the launch this Friday! Copies will also be available at Rainy Retreat, Juneau-Douglas City Museum Store, Alaska Robotics, Kindred Post, and Hearthside Books after the launch. If you’re outside of Juneau, Old Harbor Books in Sitka, Skagway News Depot and Books, and Parnassus Book Store in Ketchikan will also have the journal!

Interested in previous editions of Tidal Echoes? Copies are available to checkout at Egan Library and other libraries around Juneau and the UAS Writing Center! If you are outside of Juneau, Egan Library also has editions available online!
