From our recent trip to Wrangell. This time we had a guided tour to the Petroglyph Beach and were shown a few we missed last year. The tide was a bit higher so some were still under water, but the tide line did help with some interesting images. A circular polarizing filter was used to get the light on the rocks right to help see the art work. Truly amazing how many pieces are here and the amount of time it must have taken to create them.
Wrangell is a beautiful place with friendly people who are very proud of their heritage. Kaachxana áak’w.

Recently I purchased a for my Nikon. Here are a couple highlights so far. This weekend I will be in Seattle so I am eager to get some street shots with this fun thing. Made from recycled disposable camera lenses it gives a neat feel. Rather soft focus, but I’ve heard that might just be a Nikon issue. Still, I enjoy the feel of these images.

Last month I was fortunate enough to travel to Wrangell for the Alaska Recreation and Parks Association conference for the second year in a row. There was a lot of socializing and networking but I was able to get a few photos. Below are just a few.

Wrangell is a beautiful place with friendly people who are very proud of their heritage. It’s been a pleasure to make new friends over the last two years and I hope to get back to explore more.

Another ABC bear from my trip to Sitka.
I was pleasantly surprised to finally catch a glimpse of this small family on my last day in Sitka. Pretty excited to get my first photos of wild Brown Bears.

An ABC cub takes a peek while having a snack at low tide near Starrigavan in Sitka Alaska.

The ABC Islands bears are a subspecies of brown bear that resides in Southeast Alaska, mainly on Admiralty, Baranof, and Chichagof Islands. Sitka sits on Baranof island.

Gallery/Studio update!!!

I wanted to write something prolific and moving, but I’m exhausted. So here’s the short version.

Noelani and I have officially signed a lease for a spot in downtown Juneau. This will be a Gallery/Studio space for myself and other photographers and artists as well as a teaching space for Noe and her business.

Lots more to come, but soon you’ll be able to walk into Lavender Peaks Gallery and Studio.

With a bunch of new faces I thought it’s a good time to reintroduce myself.

I’m Jeremy, I’m a photographer in Juneau Alaska. I’m a 5th generation Alaskan, born in Anchorage. My wife and I moved to Juneau in 2010 and love to spend time outside with our pups. My wife is a traveling instructor, teaching and certifying people in CPR/First aid, training new Lifeguards and overall keeping people safe.
