It has come to my attention that a candidate who is running for Sheriff of Montgomery County Sheriff's Department in Arkansas was Decertified as a law enforcement officer back in 2015 for Drug Violations.
It is important to note that he was put on paid administrative leave (aka vacation), allowed to resign, and had Zero criminal charges were filed against him.
We all know that if a member of the public was caught committing these crimes, that they would be held accountable in the court of law.
I find this very concerning.
It's sad that we have a two-tier justice system in the state of Arkansas and if you are part of the "Good Ole Boy System", then chances are that you are not held accountable for your unlawful actions.
This post was made to inform Montgomery County voting citizens of past actions and to advocate for a better tomorrow.
Respectfully submitted,

Arkansas State Police Investigating Earle Mayor Following Allegations Involving a Minor

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Arkansas State Police have launched an investigation into Earle Mayor Jaylen Smith following allegations of inappropriate contact involving a minor.

According to ASP, the agency’s Criminal Investigation Division began investigating Smith after receiving information from the FBI. Officials have not released additional details about the nature of the allegations or the status of the investigation.

FOX13 reported that attempts to contact Smith for comment have so far been unsuccessful.

Smith was elected mayor of Earle in 2022 at just 18 years old, becoming the youngest mayor in the United States at the time. However, his time in office has since been surrounded by scrutiny, including concerns about how city funds have been used and questions regarding the city’s overall financial management.

In November 2024, the Earle School District restricted Smith’s access to school campuses, requiring him to obtain approval from the superintendent at least 48 hours in advance before visiting district property. The district’s attorney sent Smith a formal letter outlining the restrictions at the direction of Superintendent Ryan Burgess.

The letter cited concerns over Smith’s frequent, unauthorized visits to school campuses for activities not related to district operations, stating those actions conflicted with district policies and could interfere with the learning environment. While the letter did not specify the exact incidents that led to the decision, it also reminded Smith that photographing students on school property without parental or guardian consent is prohibited.

Smith later shared the letter publicly on Facebook and said he would comply with the district’s decision.
