Sony, under the direction of Jonathan Glazer, created a masterpiece in their 2006 ad, 'Paint'- a rainbow-splattered romp in the south of Glasgow.
The ad showcases the power of Sony's televisions in explosive fashion, using paint bombs to create a mesmerizing display of color and light. And the numbers behind the making of this ad are just as impressive as the final product. With a production cost of around £2m and a cleanup operation that took 60 people five days to complete, this ad is a true testament to Sony's commitment to pushing boundaries.
To bring this 60-second ad to life, the team used a staggering 70,000 liters of environmentally friendly paint, along with 622 bottle bombs, 330 meters of steel pipe, 455 mortars, 57km of copper wire, and 1,700 detonators. No expense was spared in creating this one-of-a-kind ad. In the end, 'Paint' is a thrilling and unforgettable experience that perfectly captures the essence of Sony's innovative spirit.
