It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of K9 Boss last Wednesday, January 29th. K9 Boss and his handler, Lt. Bohling, began their time together in 2017 and worked together as a team until K9 Boss' retirement in 2023. During his career, K9 Boss was responsible for numerous drug arrests, assisted in the arrests of numerous dangerous criminals, protecting Lt. Bohling, and most importantly brought numerous smiles to people from our community through his K9 demonstrations for the public with his tail always wagging.

One of the many highlights of K9 Boss' career was a traffic stop he assisted the Idaho State Police on. During this traffic stop, he alerted to the presence of illegal drugs within the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, Troopers and Deputies not only found illegal drugs but also located rare and exotic snakes that were illegal to be in possession of. Through the course of the investigation stemming from K9 Boss' alert to the vehicle, it lead to the discovery of an illegal exotic animal trading ring.

After his retirement, K9 Boss lived in luxury with his handler Lt. Bohling. He got to chase his ball as often as he wanted and was spoiled with endless love and attention. K9 Boss will be greatly missed as he could always be counted on for his wagging tail and over grown puppy dog demeanor when not working.

Rest in peace K9 Boss! You will always be in our hearts!
