[UPDATE]

WITZ’s Drew Hasselbring was on location earlier today. He spoke with hotel owners and local law enforcement. Hear a full report on tomorrow’s WITZ 8am news.

The adult son of the SureStay Plus owners was on duty at the time of the shooting. All the other guests are confirmed safe. The hotel has moved them to other rooms to accommodate both the guests and the investigation, which has shut down the second floor of the hotel. Police say it was an isolated incident between visiting construction workers.

(4:51PM ET) More on today's shooting in Jasper:

Indiana State Police is conducting the investigation, Jasper Police Department is processing the crime scene.

Officials say one male suspect was transported for detainment and there was one male victim who was taken via private vehicle to an area hospital. Names have not been released at this time.

ISP Sergeant John Davis says there is no danger to the public at this time.

It is unclear whether the suspect or the victim are Jasper, or even Dubois County, residents.

We will have more as information becomes available.

The Jasper Police Department is working a shooting incident at the Surestay Hotel. This is an active investigation, please avoid the area. There is no threat to the public. We will update as soon as more information can be released
