The Gilmer Community Food Pantry’s Pet Pantry needs your help! The animal food outreach needs food and funds to help animals in Gilmer County that would otherwise go without food. The pet food pantry provides food to Gilmer County’s residents who also depend on the food pantry. Last month they provided food for over 1,000 cats and dogs. If you love animals, please donate. Go to gilmerfoodpantry.org and look for their pet food outreach. You will learn how to donate money, donate pet food, and purchase food through Chewy.com or through PayPal. Our pets are members of the family and they need your help now!

BIG CANOE, GA (September 9, 2024) – In Georgia there are more than 188,000 people living with Alzheimer’s disease and more than 374,000 people providing unpaid care for them. Sterling Kenyon of Big Canoe is one of those caregivers. Sterling’s wife, Amanda, was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s at age 63.
One of the bucket list items Sterling has always had is hiking the Appalachian Trail. So what better way to check off a bucket list item and support other families dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s than to hike the Trail.
