A man is in jail after police said he broke in and burglarized eight Jacksonville churches, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post Wednesday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said 35-year-old Jose Ortiz broke into the churches, and they're still working to return stolen items.

REST IN PEACE 🙏: Retired Lt. Col. Harry Stewart Jr, a decorated World War II pilot who broke racial barriers as a Tuskegee Airmen and earned honors for his combat heroism, has died. He was 100.

Stewart was one of the last surviving combat pilots of the famed 332nd Fighter Group, the nation's first Black military pilots.
