Check out Episode 2 featuring Jacksonville State University sophomore Kendarius Tucker, also known as Desmond Summers. We had a great conversation about music, and I had to leave so much on the cutting room floor. I told him once my instructor grades the assignment, I may go in and do an extended cut so I'm not limited to the 12-15 minute time constraints (Spoiler alert: I still went over by two minutes). Hope you enjoy the podcast! Please leave some feedback, hit the like button, and share with your friends.

NOTE: I had to host the podcast on a different platform. The free trial for PodBean expired.

The 40-Year-Old Freshman interviews Jacksonville State University sophomore Kendarius Tucker, also known by his music-creating alias Desmond Summers. We discuss musical influences, favorite genres, and more.

My first podcast is hosted via a site called PodBean. It's just under a 12-minute listen, so I appreciate those willing to give me their time. Any critiques and constructive criticism is appreciated given this was my first experience editing audio, and I know I have room for improvement and growth. That being said, I'm aware I probably had one too many "ums," made a few bad cuts, and I didn't have my guest at a consistent level throughout the show. I also accidentally said "video" game instead of "board" game once.

As I told my podcasting professor early last week: "I know I'm not going to hit a grand slam on my first one. I just want to get on base."

The 40-Year-Old Freshman talks with fellow freshman and Jacksonville State University Tabletop Gaming Club regular Justin Ellis about tabletop games, video games, board games, his career goals, and life at JSU.

Welcome everyone to The 40-Year-Old Freshman Podcast's page! My name is Shane, and as a nontraditional student returning to college at 40, my goal with this podcast is to interview traditional students and campus personnel to discuss common interests, hobbies, campus life and more. In our modern society, we see so much polarization and criticism of different generations. My podcast seeks to show listeners that although we may come from different generations, we have more in common than we realize.

Recording for the pilot episode takes place tomorrow. More details on platforms where to find the podcast, once it's released Feb. 25, will be available in a later post. I know there is a specific platform our instructor wants us to use, but I intend to make this available on multiple platforms.
