In May 2024, the .us campaign, which documented the experiences of American sponsors and newcomers from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Haiti, was recognized by the for Audience Honor in Storytelling.
Our partnership with and
, led by our creative director/producer , involved a collaborative effort to produce video stories that captured these journeys with accuracy, respect, and dignity.
The impact of the campaign has been significant:
+ Over 500,000 people seeking safety have arrived through newly authorized pathways for private sponsorship—five times the annual average for refugee admissions.
+ Sponsors now span all 50 states and more than 11,000 zip codes.
+ The campaign has reached 80 million people to date.
+ The United in Welcome PSA aired 239,162 times nationwide in 2023 and received 3.4 million views after being shared by Barack Obama.
+ The Welcome.US website sees 380,000 monthly visits for sponsorship resources and stories.
This campaign was made possible through a remarkable collaboration between organizations, the dedication of crews we worked with across the country, the cooperation of the many cities and towns we visited, and—most importantly—the participation of the newcomers and their sponsors who shared their stories.
