Apple has been busy working undercover on exciting technology for the next generation of their mobile devices.

It has been reported that based on new patent filings, the iPhone of the future could utilize digital buttons and icons on the “sides of the iPhone” as well as for the iPad. In addition to the digital buttons, the sides could also function as a slim display for generative contextual information. This would certainly be a new approach and user-interface.

These new patents also contain some other goodies, such as multiple cameras, display security features for dealing with prying eyes and - get this - a rollable iPhone.

With these technological plans on the drawing board for Apple’s mobile devices, we can only imagine what might be behind the iconic “one more thing” line made famous by the late Steve Jobs when introducing a new product.

Stay tuned and don’t nod off during the next Apple keynote address.

Did you know that you can perform math calculations in the search field on your desktop or iOS mobile devices. On the PC, the search field is next to the Windows logo at the bottom of the display screen. For iOS devices, swipe down from the middle of the screen to bottom. This might also work on Android mobile devices.

Just simply start typing the numbers and insert the appropriate plus, minus, or division characters in the string of numbers you're calculating. As you type on the PC, notice that a calculator display will appear in a pop-up panel in the upper right corner. On iOS devices, the results of the calculation will appear in a panel at the top of the display.

For a more complex calculation, add the parenthesis characters at the beginning and ending of your main calculation to enclose it before adding the sub-calculation. For example, to add 2+3+5 times 2, the calculation string in the Search Field would look like this: (2+3+5)*2

This will also work in the URL field at the top of your screen for a quick calculation. But after entering the calculation string, add the = sign at the end and hit the Enter key. In a few seconds, a calculator display will pop up with the answer.
