You have a real and vetted opportunity to make legal representation a reality for 60 children who have been separated from their mothers. These kids range from 58 WEEKS OLD to 10 years old. They are traumatized, not being told where their mothers are, and are expected to DEFEND THEMSELVES in front of a judge.

Together Rising has contacted organizations that work directly with these kids who will represent them, get them in continuous contact with their mothers, and are trained in handling trauma.

This is YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Donate something, anything. Skip the bottle of wine and donate. Skip the extra dinner out and give babies and mothers a chance to be together again. End the terror.

Watch Glennon's video to learn more, read the blog post to better understand what's happening to these kids. Use your fury for good.

Emergency Love Flash Mob For The Kids! You can give directly here: www.togetherrising.org/give
(All donations are tax-deductible and every penny we receive goes to serve these kids.)

When you've been accused of s*xual assault, harassment, or misconduct by 60 women, claiming that it was always consensual is either driven by an enormous blind spot in your awareness or a lack of courage in asking for forgiveness.

Men of power who abuse the people around them in these ways do not deserve the protection that other people's silence offers them. It's about time the pendulum of justice swings in the direction of the victims.

As women enter male dominated fields, these types of changes begin to occur. Eventually, the stark divide between business and family will soften and hopefully lead to better policies for all parents.

A historic rule change passed Wednesday allowing the newborns of Senate members into the chamber. Its passage without objection came despite plenty of concern, some privately aired, among senators of both parties about the threat the tiny humans pose to the Senate's cherished decorum.

One consequence of being told to "man up" is a desire to die. The su***de rate of boys goes to 5x that of girls around 15-16 years old, which is the exact same time they stop expressing love, affection, sorrow, longing.

When boys are told their feelings don't matter, some of them shut down their desire to live. Allow boys the same room to feel as you might give girls.

“The privileged group is the one that needs to do the work.”

Men talking to men about s*xism. This type of peer education is an emerging part of a national conversation about how men and women experience the world differently. I love and support it 100%.

We can consciously choose to create a world in which on a daily basis we unleash the fullest expression of kindness and empathy from our girls and our boys.

We must believe in a world that is kinder and safer and then lean into making it real.

The dark side of seeking significance, status and notoriety is that it typically requires the exploitation or destruction of others.

Add in an online tribe of people built around celebrating the one who causes the most destruction and it enables the worst kind of echo chamber.

As a teen allegedly slaughtered 17 people in Florida, a judge was deciding whether another accused school shooter in South Carolina should be tried as an adult.

“Love people even when they don’t deserve it.”

There is a loneliness that drives rage and when that rage is given access to weapons, bad things happen. But a moment of kindness, of recognition, of standing up for someone being bullied can mean the difference between life and tragedy.

I've been informally interviewing men to get a sense of how they're perceiving the campaign. It's been eye-opening and a bit worrying as both men and women adjust to the rapid cultural changes.

Please read it, share it, or leave me a comment!

It’s getting real in here.

The Truth about Work/Life Balance
Go beyond balance and have a life rich with joy, personal power, and self-worth

Our American culture has placed striving at the center of the universe and technology has encouraged work to seep into evenings and weekends. Striving toward greater rights and an improved quality of life is the upside. The downside is that many Americans feel they are rushing from one thing to the next, rushing through life, and not present in the moments that offer the possibility of joy and contentment.

There are easy to use tools that offer immediate relief. When applied consistently, these tools reduce mental fatigue, bring clarity of purpose, and bring you back into the present moment.

I'll be sharing these tools and more at the November 2nd Morgan Stanley Women , Wealth and Wellness event. It's hosted at the Hilton Garden Inn, 130 East Seneca Street, in the Oswego Brindley Room. The event starts at 10:30 and ends at 6:30. I'll be speaking from 12:00-12:45.

To reserve your spot, contact Marissa Pike at [email protected] or at 607.274.8501 by October 30th.

1. Being honest about what lives under the surface.

Last week I had to have a "come to Jesus" meeting with myself. On the surface of things, everything was good. Javier is healthy and happy. My husband is supportive, funny and reliable at a level 100. But I knew something was up with me.

The first clue was that every night after putting Javi in his crib I would come downstairs ready to exhale...and then our cat Willamena would meow at me. She always wants me to pet her while she eats. The thought that kept jumping into my head was "Shut the f**k up." I don't like being that version of myself.

I was also holding resentments under the surface. When my husband didn't immediately respond to a question or request I had of him (because he's my husband, not my butler), I would growl under my breath.

Any question related to work that didn't have an easy answer became something to avoid. But it didn't leave my brain, instead I used it torture myself, "Why don't you just deal with it? How are you ever going to get ahead if you keep acting like this?"

I woke up last Sunday and a voice of authority within insisted that I sit my cranky behind in a chair and write. I poured out my frustrations, fears, resentments, desires, questions, all of it. At the end of it all, I felt like the way you might after a huge sigh. But there was still more to do.

I decided while Jeff was in Utah for the week, I would see clients, solo parent, and reconnect to God. I started praying again. Some days the prayer was this simple, "Help." Other days, the prayer was, "I surrender the details to you and trust in your plan for my life." I journaled like it was a part-time job. And I listened to Oprah's Super Soul Conversations podcast in every spare minute.

By the second day, I had space inside me to breathe again. I was in a grueling cycling class, staring at the wall, imagining I was back on a mountain in Colorado focused on a low, full moon, and my prayer for surrender became the space in my chest to breathe, room for my heart to fully, resoundingly beat, and joy to re-enter my being.

On the fifth day, I was driving in my car and noticed various types of plants all in different stages of radiant fall color changes. But I wasn't just noticing the beauty, I was it. I was God observing itself - Oneness.

At the end of all the striving, lies our desire to feel connected to ourselves, to other people, to the natural world, to a higher purpose. We live in a world that prizes striving and achievement above all else, but to have a life of meaning we must set aside the time to slow down, listen and connect.

But there is still more to do.

Most people think they can control their outside world better than they can their internal world. Truth is, when you can control your inside world you find that your outside world doesn’t matter nearly as much as you thought it did. When you stop telling yourself a story that you can’t change yourself, then you start creating the life you want.

During the upcoming Head, Heart and Strategy program you'll have the opportunity to change your story, learn how to control your internal world and create more of the life you desire.
