Happy New Year!

Starting a new year is exciting. It's untainted by failure and we generally feel excited and optimism. We are hopeful that we will be successful. We make goals.

I've been thinking a lot this last week about what success means to me. Anyone who works for themselves and runs a business knows that you can often appear to be successful but not feel like you are.

We have all heard the saying success is a journey, not a destination. I've realized if we don't clearly define what success looks like to us individually and for our business then it's just a moving goal post that we never get to. We won't ever feel successful.

I'd love to hear how

Some goals are easily measured. When I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro last year there was just one goal. Get to the top. You knew and felt that success one you reached the top.

Others goals are not so easy like be a positive, unless you define what that looks like for you.

As I reflect on last year and start defining what success is going to look like this year I think it's important to keep that mind. As someone passionate about small business growth, I've learned that defining what success looks like is key to achieving it.

What do you do to help define what success is for you? I'm curious how other people paint that picture for themselves and their businesses. Please share any thoughts have about this topic.

Let's encourage each other to set specific, measurable goals and celebrate the victories, no matter how small. Success is a personal and evolving concept, and by defining it for ourselves, we can truly savor the fulfillment it brings. 🚀
