Check this out! Professor Stephen G. Bloom’s seventh nonfiction narrative book, The Brazil Chronicles, was published Monday.

The Brazil Chronicles is the wild, true story of an English-language, ex-pat newspaper in Rio de Janeiro, filled with drug runners, crusaders, grifters, pornographers, CIA beards, fugitives, ex-cons, and a novice reporter—Bloom. Untamed Hunter S. Thompson learned Gonzo journalism at the Brazil Herald. Tad Szulc, who went on to break the Bay of Pigs story for The New York Times, started at the same paper. Larry Rohter, the former New York Times and Newsweek correspondent in Brazil, likened The Brazil Chronicles to one of the best books ever written about newspapers.

Bloom recently appeared on a podcast sponsored by the Foreign Press Correspondents’ Association in New York City, and his book has been reviewed by multiple publications. Tap the link below to order The Brazil Chronicles, listen to the podcast and read reviews!
