As the end of the academic year quickly approaches, so does President Jay Byers’ first year as president. Byers began his presidency on July 31, 2023, and has since served the Simpson community with a smile and a bowtie.

La Casa Unida (LU House) caught fire early Sunday morning, burning on the southeast corner of the house. According to an email Dean of Students Matt Hansen sent to Latinos Unidos members, the 911 call was placed at 2:35 a.m. Professional staff from security, residence life and outside emergency agencies were alerted and on the scene soon after.
The Simpson Shooting Sports team won the Division III Classic All-Around National Championship and various individual awards at the national tournament in San Antonio, Texas, which lasted from March 18-23.

The Simpson Storm baseball team swept their opening-day games for the fourth time under head coach Nathan Roling. The Storm picked up wins against Calvin, 5-2, and Wisconsin Lutheran, 10-7, on Feb. 24. The wins were the Storm’s first against each opponent in team history.
