Hey all- let me introduce myself! I’m Jake Schneider. I’m a podcast host, a follower of Jesus, and an advocate for men’s mental health.

June is men’s mental health month, and I wanted to share my story: I attempted su***de at 16. Instead of losing my life, I gave it to Jesus. The next 10+ years included: bouts of depression and anxiety, periods of joy and sorrow, and growth in my own faith as I constantly fail to live up to what I preach; but, I keep trying and I keep growing. The biggest thing I’ve learned is this: share and invite. Share your story, and invite people into your life. Sorrow and joy ebb and flow. But you’ll never be a worse person for sharing and inviting. This June, check in on the men in your life. It’s a lonely road sometimes. And men- effing talk about life. Don’t hide it.

This is important to me because I have followed John and his father for some time on social media, and the content they create together has been inspiring to me as an artist.
