💔 Closing Announcement — We Need You More Than Ever

We are all in tears as we write this…
on December 31st, 2025, Red Dog Books will close its doors at 7115 E 46th St. Permanently. We hope to continue our work for the community somewhere with lower rent

📉 Liquidation begins NOW.
After multiple forced moves, high rent, and the slowest sales we’ve ever seen, we simply cannot sustain in this location any longer.

We’re preparing for a full shutdown — unless we can find a new affordable space and the community steps in to help us get there.
Right now, we’re not even financially stable enough to move.

---

Red Dog Books has never just been a bookstore. It has been a safe haven, a community center, a place people go when they have no one else to ask for help.

Because of YOU, we have been able to:

📚 Make literacy affordable and accessible
🛍️ Create and distribute Blessing Bags to people in crisis
🥫 Keep a Community Pantry running
💼 Offer job training to anyone who needed a fresh start
🍽️ Host free meals, holiday events, and outreach to encampments

We’ve done all this because someone needed help…
And we refused to look away.

Now, we are the ones asking for help.

❤️ HOW YOU CAN HELP US CONTINUE TO HELP OTHERS

Whether you have $0 or $0.50 to spare, you can make a difference:

🔗 Donate to our GoFundMe (link in comments)
💸 Donate directly to the store (link in comments)
🛒 Shop — and bring a friend or two
📍 See an empty commercial space? Take a picture and send it to us.

We are NOT in a position to be picky. Anything 2k–6k sq ft could save us. Privately Owned Preferred
We are even open to a house with a garage to work out of until we get our bearings back!
(We can only afford spaces under $0.50/sq ft — we know that’s nearly impossible, but we have to try.)

Every share makes a huge difference

▶️ Even if you can’t donate:
Watching our reels on loop, clicking “read more,” liking, commenting, and browsing our photos earns the store a little through social media monetization.
Your engagement literally supports us.

---

This community has shown us time and time again that miracles happen when we stand together.

Please don’t just remember Red Dog Books.
Help us keep it alive.

🙏 Please share. Please support. Please don’t let this be the end.
