Merry Christmas from German artillery officer LTN Bernhard Mangels (2nd from right) and his pals, taken on Christmas Day 1915. They used a pine branch for a tree and had chocolates with Bollinger wine. Two years later Mangels would assume command of German Balloon Unit 35, the final balloon downed by US ace 2LT Frank Luke, Jr., and take part in Luke's final engagement.
